Epic Armoury’s Viking Arm Protection is a set of vambraces inspired by ancient splint armour. At first glance, the Viking Arm Protection pieces may appear fragile, but don’t let that fool you! The vambraces can be worn over leather or clothing, and the vertical steel strips offer excellent protection of your forearms without hindering your mobility.

Legend

HUNTING FOR HEADS

If this sword could speak it would tell gruesome tales of the vast amounts of beheadings it has carried out in the hand of a warmongering Celtic tribal warrior. NO GUTS NO GLORY!

The Barbarian hordes were no strangers to use fear as a weapon, and the more intimidating you looked when engaging in battle, the better. Replicate that wild and savage look, doing the Barbarian style proud with Epic Armoury's Gut Plate. The Gut Plate features plating made from three ridged steel plates--or lames--overlaying one another and a central plate to provide laminate protection of the gut. The vegetable tanned leather belt is made from two smaller, embossed leather belts slipped through a wide brace, providing a secure fit that will remain fixed over your costume. Fasten the belt by securing its two belt tongues, locked in place by two square brass belt buckles and show off an appearance that is worthy not only of barbarians, but of all Nomadic Horse Warriors, Vikings or Norsemen who might want a good piece of armour to protect their soft spot, when they go out pillaging and raiding.

Epic Armoury’s Viking Mask Helmet is a skull cap helmet inspired by the Vikings of the 10th century. The “spectacle” guard over the eyes provides great protection for the face while still allowing the wearer good vision. Reinforced with rivets, a combed apex, and a steel band around the rim, you can expect this helmet to stand up against the Roman Empire and its inferior states.

Secure the Viking Mask Helmet by tightening the leather strap beneath the chin, keeping the helmet in place. Intimidation. It’s your main form of weaponry while facing the heroes, because it gives you full control. When your enemies fear you, they are more likely to make fatal mistakes.

Your Dark Drake Armour is as dark as your intentions, hardened by the evil magic your subjects provide. As you withdraw your sword, sizing up the quivering soldier who feels brave enough to stand against you, you begin to laugh. This will be a very brief fight--if you can even call it that. Epic Armoury’s Dark Drake Arm Protection is a set of steel vambraces designed to protect the forearms in combat. Rounded at the edges and decorated with scale-like ridges, these vambraces are designed to sit comfortably over the forearm, reaching from the elbow and narrowing at the wrists. Secure this armour with a top-grain leather strap below the elbow and another above the wrist.

The Dark Drake Arm Protection is designed to match Epic Armoury’s Dark Drake Armour, but is fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s costume. • Unlike popular belief, arm protection was only called a “bracer” if it was meant to protect the forearm of an archer. Actual forearm protection like this would have been called a “vambrace” or “forearm guard”
• Plate armour became more popular as firearm technology became more prevalent during the 13th century
• Historically designed with sculpted ridges to provide reinforced protection and to deflect attacks on a chaotic battlefield

Epic Armoury’s Viking Spear is a 190 cm latex spear with a long, leaf-shaped ridged spearhead. Handpainted and sculpted to give it a realistic look, the Viking Spear’s 40 cm spearhead appears to be attached to a long pole with metal bolts. A crossguard is attached to the head to protect your grip along the dark wood-coloured pole, while a matching metal pommel can be used to strike unsuspecting opponents when the spearhead is busy.

Made from durable closed cell foam around a fibreglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can feel confident that your LARP weapon will provide the safety and appeal you want when crafting your kit.

• A form of the spear has been used for hunting for at least 400,000 years
• Spears were the most common form of weaponry during the Stone Age, and remained popular until firearms were introduced

The best defence in life means nothing if it is eaten away by time and the elements, or even attacked from the inside.
And so it is with your own armour!
Humidity, expansion and contraction in the heat, UV radiation, rain, and the withering blows of your enemies all conspire to expose your armour to rust, but worse yet, your very own precious bodily fluids conspire to corrode it from the inside with their impurities and corruption! (which is why we only ever drink pure grain alcohol or rainwater)

You could coat your armour (and other metal objects) in a regular run of the mill lubricant, but many of them are actively hydrophobic. Great for metal but terrible for leather, cotton and other organic materials!

Lanox MX4 is a lanolin rich lubricant, and lanolin is the oil that is naturally produced by sheep to prevent them from shrinking in the rain and generally remain weather proof! It is superior to many artificial compounds and does not damage leathers or organic fibres.
