An elongated front piece and shorter back piece are decorated with rivets, and can be attached to a breast and backplate using its sturdy top-grain leather straps. Epic Armoury’s Dark Drake Shoulderplates are a set of two shoulder guards with spaulders, pauldrons and besagues. The spaulders have four scale-like ridged metal plates--or lames--overlaying one another to provide laminate protection of the upper arms. Overlaying the spaulder is a large pauldron, which provides additional protection to the shoulder joint and armpits. Besauges (small round convex metal shields) tied onto the spaulders with leather cords add further protection to the armpits. The shoulderplates are fastened with leather straps around the biceps and at the shoulder blade, attaching to a breast- and backplate. Epic Armoury breast- and backplates can be purchased separately and have fittings for mounting the shoulders.

Epic Armoury’s Dark Drake Upper Leg are tassets designed to protect the thigh and groin. The style is late medieval with rolled edged metal plates overlapping each other. Two sets of steel plates hang from the hips to cover the outer thighs. A third set of slimmer plates cover the groin area and provide some protection to the inner thighs. The set comes with a leather belt with suspenders to keep the piece in place. Each plate is treated with Epic Armoury’s Epic Dark Metal coat, which gives the armour a rugged, antique finish which matches its reptilian scale design.

Humidity, expansion and contraction in the heat, UV radiation, rain, and the withering blows of your enemies all conspire to expose your armour to rust, but worse yet, your very own precious bodily fluids conspire to corrode it from the inside with their impurities and corruption! (which is why we only ever drink pure grain alcohol or rainwater)

You could coat your armour (and other metal objects) in a regular run of the mill lubricant, but many of them are actively hydrophobic. Great for metal but terrible for leather, cotton and other organic materials!

Lanox MX4 is a lanolin rich lubricant, and lanolin is the oil that is naturally produced by sheep to prevent them from shrinking in the rain and generally remain weather proof! It is superior to many artificial compounds and does not damage leathers or organic fibres.

A Noble’s Neck Protection

Simple Design, Great Protection

Epic Armoury’s Soldier Gorget is designed to sit around the neck, providing protection to the thorax and shoulders. Handmade and molded to sit comfortably on the shoulders, this gorget offers some of the best protection for the battlefield without being overly ornate. This design makes for a practical look, easily transferred between multiple costumes or to fit a simple medieval soldier.

The Soldier’s Gorget is made from two pieces, one side secured with a bolt and the other closed with an adjustable leather strap. Attach it to your gambeson by threading canvas ties through the leather shoulder plates. With regular leather and metal care you can expect this quality made armour to last for a long time!

Mytholon enters the market for more premium armour designs with the neautifully hand crafted Dragomir armour.

This gorget would look fine on its own atop a black Imperial gambeson, but would look even better with the matching pauldrons and a Draugr blade.

The "Dragomir" plate armor is incredibly elaborate. It consists of a multitude of lames and finely shaped elements which, when combined, result in extraordinary armor that can hardly be more agile. Every part by "Dragomir" is carefully flanged, decorated with beads and coordinated with one another. They impress with their shape and the masterful execution that makes this armor so unique.

If you like it a little less decorated and want to save some money, you should check out "Dragomir's" brother "Rikomer". Technically identical, "Rikomer" dispenses the decorative beads in favor of a more brutal look and a lower price.

Armor like this is usually only available as a custom-made product and Mytholon had to fiddle a long time before they could get it ready for series production. Of course, the fit must and can be optimized here and there by careful bending, but Mytholon have designed the armor in such a way that it can be carried into the field with maximum comfort.

The individual parts of the Dark varient are burnished to protect against rust and are particularly suitable for dark knights or fighters of chaos.

Steel varient "Dragomir" is particularly suitable for dragon knights or fighters of light.

We generally recommend wearing a gambeson and arm & leg paddings under plate armor. This significantly improves wearing comfort and protection.

Epic Armoury’s Gothic Gorget & Shoulders is fully articulated and designed to provide protection for the throat, neck and shoulders while minimizing the exposure of weak-spots. The armour is a four-piece set: a two piece gorget and two shoulders. The gorget covers the thorax to the sternum and is furnished with several ridges and two large octagonal besagues (round metal shields) to protect the notoriously under-armoured armpits from arrow-strikes.
