Silicone Maintenance Spray

This bestselling Epic Armoury Maintenance Silicone is used for maintenance of Live Action Role Playing foam weapons and equipment covered with latex and/or varnish.

Directions for use:

Latex equipment must be coated with a thin layer of silicone at all times. This prevents the surfaces from drying out, and will prolong the lifespan of your latex equipment. Always check your latex equipment before and after each use. Spray the silicone directly onto your latex product and work it into the entire surface (avoiding leather handles) either with a piece of cloth or using a flat hand. If necessary, wipe off any excess with a dry cotton cloth. Always store your latex equipment in a dry and dark place.

This Epic Armoury Hard Foam is one of our DIY products used to create your own Live Action Role Playing weapons, shields, or armour. This particular 3x500x1000mm sheet is dense and harder to bend, making it perfect for fine details on top of our softer foam. This product is made from closed-celled foam that does not tear, feels light and durable, and has great memory after being molded.

There are multiple methods to creating a LARP weapon, but here are the basics when using our hard Epic Foam! Carve and heat the foam into your desired shape. Attach it to our softer foam or use it as detail pieces on costuming or armour. Remember to leave a safe amount of foam around the core of a weapon in order to preserve its safety. When the shape you desire is achieved, dip the weapon into latex and allow to dry between layers for a smooth, protective surface.

Coat your latex equipment with a thin layer of silicone to prevent the surface from drying out, and to prolong the lifespan of your weapon. Always check your weapon for damage before and after each use. Wrap the handle with leather or cloth for a finished look.

Sure you could* use this to fasten rope around a fixed point on a yard arm, but it's much more effective as an improvised weapon to slug someone in near quarters.

Epic Armoury’s Belaying Pin measures 40 cm and is made from durable closed cell foam with a core of flexible tubing and finished with a strong latex coating. Hand painted and sculpted, this weapon appears to be made of real wood. Great impromptu LARP weapon for thumping skulls or for disciplining deck boys.

Helmar H4000 Silicone Spray meets the requirements of lubricants with incidental food contact. May be used safely on machinery for producing, manufacturing, packing, processing, preparing, treating, packaging, transporting, or holding food. Where used on food processing equipment as a protective anti-rust film. As a release agent on gaskets or seals of tank closures, and as a lubricant for machine parts and equipment in locations in which there is exposure of the lubricated part to food. The amount used should be the minimum required to achieve the desired technical effect on the equipment, and any addition to food is not to exceed one part per million.

Protection Gel is a high quality, natural, acid free, food grade silicone oil product.
This silicone is used for maintenance and reducing strike friction of Live Action Role Playing foam weapons and equipment covered with latex and/or varnish. 
Latex weapons must be coated in a thin layer of silcone at all times. This protects the latex from drying out. 
Painted foam weapons should have a thin layer of silicone to reduce friction and prolong the longevity of the finish.

It is non-allergenic and non-reactive when used in standard room temperature environments, however adequate safety precautions such as gloves and goggles are always advised.

Please Note: Australian manufactured bottles of Epic Armoury Protection Gel are 100ml of gel in a 125ml bottle.
This is to provide space for customers to use a thining agent if they prefer a less viscous maintenance solution. Bottles are NOT  filled completely.
