This Epic Armoury Clear Latex is one of our DIY products used to create or repair your own Live Action Role Playing weapon. Made from natural rubber, this latex comes in a large two and a half liter bottle and can be used to coat your completed foam weapon with a protective and aesthetically pleasing clear coating. Bulk bottles like this one can also be used to create molds and other projects that require more latex.

Directions for use:

There are multiple methods to create a latex mold, but here are the basics! First, choose what object you would like to use to make the mold. This could be a rock, a sculpture, a mask--just don’t use your own face or skin! Latex seals your skin and can cause damage to it. Clean and dry the object and then set it on a flat surface. Brush layers of latex onto the object, allowing each layer to dry before adding a new layer. If your object is larger, you may need more layers and may need to add reinforcing material like gauze. Cure your mold by leaving it to dry overnight, and then peel the mold carefully away from the object. Build a support stand for your mold using something like sand, then pour plaster or resin into the mold. In this way you can create magical items and in-game coins of your own!

Remember to leave a safe amount of foam around the core in order to preserve its safety! When the shape you desire is achieved, dip the weapon into latex and allow to dry between layers for a smooth, protective surface.

Coat your latex equipment with a thin layer of silicone to prevent the surface from drying out, and to prolong the lifespan of your weapon. Always check your weapon for damage before and after each use. Wrap the handle with leather or cloth for a finished look.

Using a clean surface--like a sculpted form of your face or a plastic cylinder to represent a limb--build layers of thin latex by brushing each layer on, allowing it to dry before applying another. In order to build it up to look like the skin has been cut, add layers of gauze to the latex and then cut it, opening the hole to create your preferred look before sealing it with more latex. When you’ve added 4-6 layers of latex, allow it to cure overnight before peeling it off its surface and painting it with our Water-Based makeup to match your skin.
