The thick blanket of white snow that was covering the battlefield this very morning has turned a mucky red. All around you wounded and dead men are piling up. You are lying on the hard, frozen ground on your back with the leader of a long-time rivalling tribe sitting on top of you both hands around your neck trying to strangle the life out of you. “This is it”, you think as you stare into his wild and bloodshot eyes. “This is how this battle ends.” Just before your eyes darken and you almost slip away from this world, you grab your Celtic Dagger and pierce your enemy straight in the throat.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Celtic Dagger is a 46 cm weapon that has a narrow, 29 cm two-edged blade with a central ridge. The brass coloured 15 cm handle features a u-shaped cross-guard and a form fitting hand grip. Made from durable closed cell foam around a fibreglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can feel confident that your LARP weapon will provide the safety and appeal you want when crafting your authentic kit. Epic Armoury’s Seax knife is a very utilitarian knife, with a flat single edged, 38 CM blade ending in a very sharp tip. It has no cross-guard, but does have a fine coreless pommel, that has a very form fitting hand grip that is very akin to modern kitchen knives. The, relatively, simple design of the Seax makes it a weapon that is perfect as secondary for any number of LARP characters, simple but effective without drawing much attention to itself. Incidentally, it also lets the Seax live up to its name, which is the old English word for knife. Made from durable closed cell foam around a fibreglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can feel confident that your LARP weapon will provide the safety and appeal you want.

HISTORY

• Heavily Inspired by knife and weapon designs from old anglo-saxon ideas and archeological findings
• Seax was a blanket term to describe knives, both as tools and weapons, from the early middle ages
• Typically seaxs were double bladed, but single bladed designs did exist and it would be some of the most common designs that would carry the designation Seax.

Freydis was one of the leaders of a dangerous expedition to Vinland. Many perils awaited her and her group: hunger, disease and strange natives with unknown weapons and tactics. After her arrival, things were quick to become sour: relentless attacks made her allies weakened and fearful. During one of such raids, she saw her allies and warriors fleeing the battle. But she would not budge. Grabbing her sword, she proceeded to inflict herself a terrible wound to show her comrades she would not back down. With an inspiring battlecry, she charged head first into battle, which shook her allies, who came to her side. The sword she held this day became legend, and many believe they will never know fear while holding it.

Workshop

The Viking II is the first weapon to feature our new handle. Steel-coloured, the guard and pommel surround a black leather-like handle, adorned with steel rings. Its blade is silver for an added realism. The whole weapon is made of the safest foam there is: the Calimacil foam. With its increased durability and safety, the sword will remain to your side for years.

Characters

This weapon was made with Vikings in mind. However, many other germanic characters can use it to its fullest, such as barbarians, noblemen and shieldmaidens. However, it’s not because this weapon is prestigious that Orcs and dark liches can’t profit from its sharp blade, so stay alert!

With a sigh of relief, the ranger stretched his sore back muscles and leaned against a large tree, his pale grey eyes surveying the great plains in front of him as dawn peeked over the grasslands. Tipping his hat, the rugged frontier man covered his face from the rising sun and took his first genuine rest in three days, fatigue taking over his body after the hunt of a lifetime. As he slipped into sleep, the frontier man was assaulted by vivid dreams of his epic duel with the beast, the roaring bear charging with its bloody claws, man-eating jaws aiming for his neck, thinking it could feast on the ranger as it did with the last five humans that felt before its hunger.

The hunter twitched in his sleep, his fingers grasping for his shotgun, finding it missing. The bear had knocked it from his hands with a swipe of its mighty paw, leaving Walt scrambling for his life, pinned by the massive animal. He was saved by the most simple and most loyal tool, his sturdy hunting knife. In a moment of despair and fear-induced rage, he managed to take hold of the horn-carved handle and, with strength that could only be matched by a man facing his own mortality, he sank the foot-long chunk of sharp steel in the monster's neck. As soon as the bear died, the memory faded, and the rugged rander finally found peace in his dreams. He slept for a few hours, the bearskin hanging from a thick branch nearby, drying in the morning sun, waiting to be turned into a worthy trophy for the hunter.

Inspired by American legend Jim Bowie, this large hunting knife is a latex and foam reproduction with a horn-styled handle made for LARP and other thematic events. With this rugged survivalist design, this blade is perfectly suited for rangers, hunters, veteran explorers, and other wilderness travellers. It can be used in many types of events, from fantasy to colonial, western, or even post-apocalyptic.

Athena is a new thermoforming manufacturing process that we have developed in order to offer high quality products at the cutting edge of technology. 

Thanks to this new process, Nemesis has taken the quality of their products to a higher level. Safer due to reinforced tips, durable due to quality materials and foam fusion during thermoforming, incredible balance due to the weighting system in the handles, flawless blades due to high precision molds, and daggers ready to parry due to a more robust fiberglass rod.

I kept his Seax.
I always loved the giant sea serpent Jormungand carved in the handle. When I was little, he used to lend it to me so I could pretend I was a valkyrie. It was the only thing I could lift up and it was still pretty heavy. One day while I was playing, I cut myself with it. I didn’t cry. I came back home with blood all over my left leg. He took me in his arms and told me: “Now I get to carry you everytime I go to battle. One day, it shall be yours.” I still feel the grip of this hand on the handle as if the wood carved itself to fit his grasp. My hand is much smaller, but just as strong and just as determined. Now that he’s gone, my brothers alongside him, it is up to me to uphold his memory. It is up to me to finish what he started and fight until Valhalla claims me. The sea shall bring me to my destiny. The wind shall swell the sails of my boat to this new land where my dreams have led me so many times in the past. When I think about who I was, I see the little girl  pretending to be a warrior.
But these times are long gone and time for pretend is over.
