Don't be an easy target for archers and rogues. This armor limits your weak spots without limiting your mobility, thanks to the articulation of its bottom plate.
Because it is molded rather than forged, the weight drops dramatically, making it ideal for long event days, junior fighters, and performers who want the steel look without the strain. Secured with two adjustable straps over the shoulders and another around the waist, the Faulds and Tassets are designed to be comfortable for almost any size, with a top grain leather belt and canvas straps for easy adjustment and light weight.
Features
- Molded in Polyurea (PU) for a dramatically lighter weight than the steel original
- Protects the waist, hip, and upper thigh against blows
- Articulated bottom plate for full mobility without exposing weak spots
- Two adjustable shoulder straps plus a waist strap, one size fits almost anyone
- Full grain leather belt with canvas straps for easy adjustment
- Rust-proof, dent-resistant, and requires no oiling or polishing
Fit, adjustment & care
- The strap system handles most sizing on its own, but for a closer fit, you can gently reshape the material itself using heat. Apply heat to the inside of the piece rather than the painted exterior, so the material becomes flexible without damaging the finish.
- Finish: The base material underneath the painted surface is black, so over time, scratches and general wear may reveal this black color underneath.
- Easy touch-ups: Minor cosmetic damage, such as scuffs or scratches can be simply repaired at home using a primer and acrylic hobby paints (such as Army Painter or Citadel).
- Leather care: The leather straps should be maintained like any other full-grain leather product, with occasional conditioning to keep them supple and long-lasting.
- A living finish: Wear and patina are a natural part of your armor's lifecycle and can be expected with regular use, adding to the authentic, battle-worn character of the piece.
The Milanese Armour - (Light Kit) brings the aesthetic of classic 15th-century Italian armor to the field with a focus on agility. Crafted from high-density polyurea, this cuirass offers the polished look of traditional steel armor while remaining significantly lighter and more flexible. It is designed for characters who need a high-fantasy, knightly appearance without the weight or maintenance of metal plates.
The cuirass is sculpted to provide focused protection for the torso, featuring an integrated beveled plate on the chest designed to deflect incoming attacks. The finish mimics a high-gloss, polished aesthetic, making it an immediate visual upgrade for any character kit. Because it is made from durable polyurea, it is entirely rust-proof, dent-resistant, and requires no oiling or polishing to maintain its pristine look.
Secure the cuirass using the robust full grain leather straps, allowing for a comfortable fit over a gambeson or arming doublet. It is fully compatible with Epic Armoury’s faulds and tassets, providing you the flexibility to build a custom harness that suits your specific role, whether you are a noble defender or a traveling knight.

The Milanese Couters (Light Kit) provide essential protection for the elbows, covering both the joint and the adjacent arm areas to deflect incoming strikes. Crafted from high-density polyurea, these couters replicate the look and defensive geometry of traditional steel armor while remaining significantly lighter and more agile. They are the ideal choice for adventurers who need reliable joint defense without the weight or maintenance requirements of metal plate.
The design features a curved, riveted shelf along the edge, engineered to catch and safely divert blows that would otherwise slide toward the arms. Because they are constructed from durable polyurea, these couters are entirely rust-proof and dent-resistant, meaning they stay in perfect shape regardless of the weather or the intensity of the skirmish.
Each piece is secured with an adjustable leather strap for a comfortable fit, while integrated eyelets allow you to attach them firmly to your gambeson or arming shirt. This prevents the armor from shifting during combat, ensuring consistent protection throughout the event. They are fully compatible with the rest of the Milanese Light Kit series and integrate seamlessly with other Epic Armoury equipment.
Comes in pairs.

The Milanese Pauldrons (Light Kit) are designed to provide essential shoulder defense with a focus on agility and historical aesthetics. Crafted from high-density polyurea, these pauldrons offer the polished appearance of traditional steel armor while remaining significantly lighter and more flexible. They are perfectly suited for characters who require a knightly silhouette without the burden of heavy, maintenance-intensive metal plates.
The design features overlapping plates that provide excellent range of motion for the shoulders and upper arms. Maintaining the asymmetrical character of the original steel version, the left pauldron includes a vertical plate specifically designed to protect the head from glancing blows. The entire surface is sculpted with beveled edges to effectively deflect incoming attacks, while a functional chain pin is included to allow for the attachment of an insignia or heraldry.
These pauldrons are easy to integrate into your kit; simply secure them by tying the canvas ties to a cuirass or gambeson, and use the leather straps to cinch the armor snugly around the upper arms. Because they are made from durable polyurea, they are rust-proof, dent-resistant, and require zero specialized armor care, ensuring they remain in pristine condition season after season.

Intimidation. It’s your main form of weaponry while facing the heroes, because it gives you full control. When your enemies fear you, they are more likely to make fatal mistakes.
Your Dark Drake Armour is as dark as your intentions, hardened by the evil magic your subjects provide. As you withdraw your sword, sizing up the quivering soldier who feels brave enough to stand against you, you begin to laugh. This will be a very brief fight--if you can even call it that. The little man looks barely strong enough to hold up his hammer.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Dark Drake Upper Leg are tassets designed to protect the thigh and groin. The style is late medieval with rolled edged metal plates overlapping each other. Two sets of steel plates hang from the hips to cover the outer thighs. A third set of slimmer plates cover the groin area and provide some protection to the inner thighs. The set comes with a leather belt with suspenders to keep the piece in place. Each plate is treated with Epic Armoury’s Epic Dark Metal coat, which gives the armour a rugged, antique finish which matches its reptilian scale design.
The Dark Drake Upper Leg armour is designed to match Epic Armoury’s Dark Drake Armour, but is fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s costume. Made of 1 mm thick galvanized mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.
HISTORY
- Plate armour became more popular as firearm technology became more prevalent during the 13th century
- Historically designed with sculpted ridges and overlapping plates to provide reinforced protection and to deflect attacks on a chaotic battlefield
PLEASE NOTE: This is a fitted item and is only usable with "Torso Armour Merc" without modification.
Someone might say that you are a cruel person. The truth is that you aren’t cruel--but you certainly aren’t a hero, either. The Battle of Delle is not one for your homeland or for your own people, but the pay is good and the fighting even better.
Life as a mercenary has made you into a hardened and effective warrior, and while some call it ‘luck’ when your enemy’s sword slides off your Merc Armour, you call it strategy. After all, now your enemy’s heart is a wide open target.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Mercenary Tassets are reminiscent of the typical pikeman armour of the late medieval and renaissance era. The piece consists of three broad metal plates overlapping each other to provide laminate protection for the hips and upper thigh. The tassets leave the pelvis somewhat unprotected, and normally a cod-piece would be added to protect the groin area. The tassets are secured in place with leather cords.
The Mercenary Tassets are designed to match Epic Armoury’s Mercenary Armour, and are the only tassets not fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury metal products. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

Epic Armoury’s Dark Drake Leg Protection is a set of metal ‘demi-greaves’ shaped to protect the shins. Rounded at the edges and decorated with scale-like ridges, these demi-greaves are designed to sit comfortably over the shins while leaving room for poleyns to cover the kneecaps. They reach from below the knee and narrow around the ankles, secured with a top-grain leather straps below the knee and another above the ankles. The armour is made from rolled mild steel treated with Epic Armoury’s Epic Dark Metal coat, which gives the armour a rugged, antique finish.

Your squire buckles the straps of your custom-fit Gothic Armour, adjusting it to be comfortable and snug over your gambeson. You paid top coin for this suit of plate, and you expect people will be impressed when they see how it shines on the battlefield.
Your blacksmith assured you that the Gothic Armour design was the latest in technology, able to withstand and deflect attacks--even arrows from the enemy’s bows. You are a mighty warrior, indeed, to be the owner of such fine craftsmanship. A fitting symbol of your godly-given status.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Gothic Leg Protection consists of cuisses to protect the lower thighs, articulated poleyns covering the knees, and half demi-greaves protecting the upper shins and sides of the calves. The poleyon knee-cups are articulated, composed of four overlaying plates and fitted with a projecting heart-shaped plate adding cover to the notoriously under-protected hamstring. This armour piece is held up via straps tied to the wearer’s belt and held in place via guiding straps around the thighs and calves.
The Gothic Arm Protection is made from mild steel with rolled edges that form ridges around the rims. The design is historically inspired by the renaissance, but the style and functionality is fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury armours, allowing freedom to combine armours and customize a character’s looks to fit your needs.
HISTORY
- Gothic style historically developed in the 1420-1440s thanks to technological advances
- Characterized by the curves, flutes and ridges, which strengthened the armour and deflected projectiles
