Warehouse Operator - Casual

We have a new role opening for an employee to assist with warehouse duties (primarily order packing, cleaning, and receipt of stock). This role requires previous experience in a similar role.

 

The position is listed as casual and the hours may vary significantly during event season, but it is expected to most often be 2-3 days per week. Peak event season is typically April-May and July-September.

Our usual operating hours are Mon-Thu 10am-6pm, Fri 10am-5pm.

This position is adding to a team of 6 regular staff in the warehouse and showroom + additional event staff team.

 

Your core duties in this role would be: 

•    Picking and packing customer orders

•    Updating customer orders in the system

•    Booking orders with couriers

•    Keeping the warehouse and showroom orderly whilst on shift

•    Updating website stock levels

•    Stock take

•    Taking inbound phone calls and making follow up customer phone calls where required

•    Packing a van for trade events

•    Assisting with in store retail sales as needed (e.g. when we are busy and during co-workers lunch breaks - retail is not the main part of this role)

 

Requirements:

•    Experience working in a warehouse environment and packing orders

•    Ability to lift heavy and bulky items in a safe manner

•    Ability to work in a tidy manner and keep an organised work environment

 

Preferred but not required:

•    A full manual drivers license and the ability to drive a manual van

•    Active knowledge of LARP and/or Cosplay communities

•    Metalwork, leatherwork, and cosplay/theatrical prop creation are highly desirable skills for occasional but necessary repair works 

Location: Oakleigh, very close to Huntingdale railway station and a short walk from the Huntingdale shops

 

Pay rate: $32.50 per hour casual + 11% super
