Merc Tassets - Light Kit

The Merc Tassets (Light Kit) provide essential hip and thigh defense inspired by Renaissance pikeman armor. Crafted from high-density polyurea, they offer the structured, laminate look of steel with significantly reduced weight and no need for maintenance.

These tassets is designed to look like three overlapping plates covering your upper thighs. Designed specifically for the Mercenary Armour set, they feature integrated squared holes to hook directly onto the cuirass fastenings, securing easily with leather cords.

Fit, adjustment & care

• The strap system handles most sizing on its own, but for a closer fit, you can gently reshape the material itself using heat. Apply heat to the inside of the piece rather than the painted exterior, so the material becomes flexible without damaging the finish.
• Finish: The base material underneath the painted surface is black, so over time, scratches and general wear may reveal this black color underneath.
• Easy touch-ups: Minor cosmetic damage, such as scuffs or scratches can be simply repaired at home using a primer and acrylic hobby paints (such as Army Painter or Citadel).

Epic Armoury’s Shoulder plates are a set of two PU shoulder guards with spaulders. The spaulders have three ridged PU plates or lames overlaying one another to provide laminate protection of the upper arms. The shoulder plates are fastened with leather straps around the biceps and at the shoulder blade, attaching to a breastplate, gorget or gambeson, bought separately.

The Shoulder Plate Merc are designed to match Epic Armoury’s Mercenary Armour, but is fully usable with other Epic Armoury armor products, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s kit. Made from form molded PU (Polyurea), and leather straps and fittings, this armor piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or ren fairs with regular leather care for the straps

The Torso Armour Merc (Light Kit) is a hybrid cuirass designed for maximum mobility and historical flair. Epic Armoury’s Dark Drake Upper Leg are tassets designed to protect the thigh and groin. The style is late medieval with rolled edged metal plates overlapping each other. Two sets of steel plates hang from the hips to cover the outer thighs. A third set of slimmer plates cover the groin area and provide some protection to the inner thighs. The set comes with a leather belt with suspenders to keep the piece in place. Each plate is treated with Epic Armoury’s Epic Dark Metal coat, which gives the armour a rugged, antique finish which matches its reptilian scale design.

Rounded at the edges and decorated with scale-like ridges, these demi-greaves are designed to sit comfortably over the shins while leaving room for poleyns to cover the kneecaps. They reach from below the knee and narrow around the ankles, secured with a top-grain leather straps below the knee and another above the ankles. Epic Armoury’s Gothic Leg Protection consists of cuisses to protect the lower thighs, articulated poleyns covering the knees, and half demi-greaves protecting the upper shins and sides of the calves. The poleyon knee-cups are articulated, composed of four overlaying plates and fitted with a projecting heart-shaped plate adding cover to the notoriously under-protected hamstring. This armour piece is held up via straps tied to the wearer’s belt and held in place via guiding straps around the thighs and calves.

The Gothic Arm Protection is made from mild steel with rolled edges that form ridges around the rims. The design is historically inspired by the renaissance, but the style and functionality is fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury armours, allowing freedom to combine armours and customize a character’s looks to fit your needs.
