Ravenswood Institute LARP

Greetings and salutations to witches, wizards, and sorcerers, one and all! Ravenswood Institute aims to provide you with an unforgettable magical experience.

We aim to run one weekender and a handful of single-day events throughout the year. Single-day events may be in the form of Out of Character workshops, side quests or world expansion one-shots.

The weekend event is a three day long experience, starting Friday evening and ending on Sunday afternoon. While arrival times will be posted for each event, we shall be beginning each game with a Welcoming Feast on Friday night.

This weekend event is catered, meaning that any dietary requirements should be communicated with the team so that you can enjoy the food provided by your ticket. Additionally, the locations chosen for each event will always include shelter, running water, electricity, beds, and bathrooms for your convenience.Through these, the Ravenswood Storyteller Team endeavors to reduce the amount that you will need to pack for our events and make weekend games as accessible as possible.

If you choose to be a player, each event will focus on your journey as a student of Ravenswood Institute where magic is real, and magical experiments can go wondrously right… or horribly wrong. Ravenswood Institute is a location of higher learning, like a Magical University, as such you should consider what goals you have as a student. Do you wish to discover a new way to use magic? Do you wish to finish your degree before heading out into the wider world? Or, are you aiming to finish your life’s work?

Regardless of your answer, Ravenswood Institute is filled with experts of their field to help guide you on your way. We also have a team of dedicated, and wonderfully talented Non-Player Characters (NPCs). They’re there to deliver content, enrich the experiences of the student, and to have a good time themselves of course!

While the Institute has security measures of its own, the world is dangerous. While physical combat will not be allowed - outside of very specific situations - dangerous magical creatures may wander onto the grounds. While magic can be used offensively, there will always be alternative solutions to your problems. After all, magic is supposed to be an incredibly versatile tool in your toolbelt.

As a final note, before you continue through this document, the most important part of Ravenswood LARP is consent. Magic itself revolves around informed consent. This includes both verbal and non-verbal communication methods to check in with your fellow players. The Team will be available to answer any questions that you may have, and provide support along your magical adventure. Auspicious regards, The Ravenswood Institute LARP Storyteller Team
