Granaries are emptied, daughters have fled, while the shattered bodies of fathers & sons alike are wept over by haggard mothers... if there is anyone left to weep for them at all. What few peasants remain have revolted against the local lords demanding their safety be given even a single thought.
What's left of the town is groups of mercenaries, brigands, and the few tired souls torn between.
