DIY Shield Safety Border

One of the most common causes of injuries on the fields of battle at a LARP is unsafe equipment due to poor manufacture, often times due to enthusiastic people attempting to make a piece of kit for the first time. One particularly common interaction is the edge of a shield being poorly padded, if at all, leading to damaged weapons and damages opposing players.

Part of the reason is that it's hard to find a suitable material that doesn't look like the pipe insulation that it realistically is.

Calimacil are here to help with that, making a fine and durable edging that can be applied to almost any home made shield. Made from their durable yet soft CaliFoam, when applied correctly it will be able to take blow after blow without fail whilst still looking realistic.

The gap for the shield is 12mm wide.
