Khopesh

Khopesh is an Egyptian sickle-sword that evolved from battle axes. The word 'khopesh' may have been derived from 'leg', as in 'leg of beef', because of their similarity in shape. Typically 50–60 cm in length, the inside curve of the weapon could be used to trap an opponent's arm, or to pull an opponent's shield out of the way. These weapons changed from bronze to iron in the New Kingdom period. The earliest known record of a Khopesh would date the weapon to at least 2500 BC.

Katanas, Scimitars and Sabres are among the most beautiful, most loved and most historically significant swords around. Epic Armoury’s Polished Steel Persian Greaves is a set of steel leg protection designed to protect the shins and calves. Formed to the shin and connected by chainmail, these greaves are designed to sit comfortably over the shins while leaving room for poleyns to cover the kneecaps. They reach from below the knee and narrow around the ankles, and are secured with two adjustable top-grain leather straps. The chainmail and back plate further protect the calves, giving your legs full coverage.

The Persian Greaves are designed to match Epic Armoury’s Roman collection, but can be mixed and matched to fit your character’s unique costume. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

Fear No One

Epic Armoury’s Polished Steel Persian Helmet is your solution for complete head protection. Inspired by ancient Asian armour, this helmet is made of 1 mm thick mild steel and features a tall bowled head with a pointed crest that has been capped with a decorative plate. A nasal guard extends up over the forehead and offers great protection to the face without limiting too much visibility, and it creates an impressive silhouette on the battlefield. It can be removed by loosening the front bolt.

A full chainmail aventail provides protection to both the neck and the face, and is hooked directly onto the helmet and around a strong band of metal that forms the two eye holes. These holes are wide for visibility! The chainmail is lined with leather around the eyes and in the front for comfort and to keep the links in place.

Secure the Persian Helmet by tightening the leather strap beneath the chin, keeping the helmet in place. An Off-White Persian Headband is included with your helmet, and can be strapped around the helmet’s crown and attached to the back using four holes in the metal.

Epic Armoury’s Char-a'ina Epic Dark is a simple low-fantasy, historically based piece of armour protecting the front and back of the torso and abdomen, that has its origin in Persia, modern day Iran. Using four plates, one on the front, back and sides, the Char-a'ina held together by full grain straps that criss cross arcross your back and can be tightend and loosend between your sides.

The large blank areas on the Char-a'ina is perfect for those of you who wishes to add a personal ingraving to your armour, as this was also a historical tendency for those who wore it, during its heyday.

HISTORY

• Char-a'ina translates as "four mirror", referring to the four plates that compose this type of armour.
• The historical examples that survive to today are usually those of noblemen, highly detailed and engraved with scenes of from the lives of those that wore them.
• Our version is an amalgemation of the different designs rather than one specific, in order to create a more general look.

The Khopesh (also vocalized khepesh) is an Egyptian sickle-sword that evolved from battle axes.

A typical khopesh is 50–60 cm in length, though smaller examples do also exist. The blunted edge of the weapon's tip also served as an effective bludgeon, as well as a hook. These weapons changed from bronze to iron in the New Kingdom period. The earliest known depiction of a khopesh is from the Stele of Vultures, depicting King Eannatum of Lagash wielding the weapon; this would date the khopesh to at least 2500 BC.

This bestselling Epic Armoury Persian Blade is a proper long sword, capable of taking on those pesky Spartans and their short blades and spears. The sword is 87 cm long from tip to pommel, with a 67 cm blade. HISTORY

• Persian swords are also referred to as a “Shamshir” or a “Scimitar”

When Davos warns it will be dangerous and that he should take one of the swords in the shop, Gendry points out he was never taught to fight properly, and is only good with a war-hammer, which retrieving from the back of the shop a war hammer, a maul with a stag's head design on either side of the haft socket (likely forged himself and referencing his Baratheon roots)
