This bestselling Epic Armoury Persian Blade is a proper long sword, capable of taking on those pesky Spartans and their short blades and spears. The sword is 87 cm long from tip to pommel, with a 67 cm blade. The blade curves slightly and is thicker toward the tip with a false edge on the reverse side to give it the chopping and piercing power necessary to dominate a bloody battlefield. The handle with curled pommel is 16 cm long, rounded and bound in split-leather to give a comfortable and secure grip.

The blade is long and well-balanced making it a match for any Spartan you come across... provided you can get close enough to use it. Made from durable closed cell foam around a fibreglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can feel confident that your LARP weapon will provide the safety and appeal you want when crafting your kit.

Epic Armoury’s Polished Steel Persian Helmet is your solution for complete head protection. Inspired by ancient Asian armour, this helmet is made of 1 mm thick mild steel and features a tall bowled head with a pointed crest that has been capped with a decorative plate. A nasal guard extends up over the forehead and offers great protection to the face without limiting too much visibility, and it creates an impressive silhouette on the battlefield. It can be removed by loosening the front bolt.

A full chainmail aventail provides protection to both the neck and the face, and is hooked directly onto the helmet and around a strong band of metal that forms the two eye holes. These holes are wide for visibility! The chainmail is lined with leather around the eyes and in the front for comfort and to keep the links in place.

Secure the Persian Helmet by tightening the leather strap beneath the chin, keeping the helmet in place. An Off-White Persian Headband is included with your helmet, and can be strapped around the helmet’s crown and attached to the back using four holes in the metal.

Epic Armoury’s Char-a'ina Epic Dark is a simple low-fantasy, historically based piece of armour protecting the front and back of the torso and abdomen, that has its origin in Persia, modern day Iran. Using four plates, one on the front, back and sides, the Char-a'ina held together by full grain straps that criss cross arcross your back and can be tightend and loosend between your sides.

The large blank areas on the Char-a'ina is perfect for those of you who wishes to add a personal ingraving to your armour, as this was also a historical tendency for those who wore it, during its heyday.

The Char-a'ina is was historically, used in conjunction with chain mails or chain shirts. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

HISTORY

• Char-a'ina translates as "four mirror", referring to the four plates that compose this type of armour.
• The historical examples that survive to today are usually those of noblemen, highly detailed and engraved with scenes of from the lives of those that wore them.
• Our version is an amalgemation of the different designs rather than one specific, in order to create a more general look.

Khopesh is an Egyptian sickle-sword that evolved from battle axes. The word 'khopesh' may have been derived from 'leg', as in 'leg of beef', because of their similarity in shape. Typically 50–60 cm in length, the inside curve of the weapon could be used to trap an opponent's arm, or to pull an opponent's shield out of the way. These weapons changed from bronze to iron in the New Kingdom period. The earliest known record of a Khopesh would date the weapon to at least 2500 BC.

Katanas, Scimitars and Sabres are among the most beautiful, most loved and most historically significant swords around. So, it’s no surprise that at nearly every LARP event, many people lament that no one makes curved swords. Those days are gone. STYLE AND FUNCTION COMBINED

Epic Armoury's Gambeson Dastan is a padded long-sleeve coat covering the torso from neck, down over the hips and upper thighs both on the front and back. It can be worn on its own or serve as essential padding under mail or armour. The gambeson is donned like a jacket and closed on the front with straps, allowing the wearer to customize the tightness of the fit. The shoulders are easily detachable by untying its cotton cords on the shoulders and sleeves, each cord secured through long-lasting brass eyelets. The gambeson design is created with a two-colour design in mind, giving a splash of colour to it.

Thick enough to serve as its own armour, this sturdy gambeson is constructed with heavy layers of fluffed cotton canvas sandwiched between dyed wool on the outside and softer cotton lining on the inside. All these layers are stitched together in vertical lines, keeping the padding in place.

• Could stop heavy arrows and mace and axe impacts with the addition of overlaying chainmail

Legend

The kriss has long been a symbol of power in the kingdom of Shakhbila and the Sultan knew it. The one who had usurped the throne from Rahim Nousha, the King of the Desert, needed this symbol to prove his rights to the throne to the people of the kingdom. However, he was unable to find the real dagger of Al-Shakkur so he secretly hired a young and ambitious blacksmith to produce a counterfeit that would save him time but fate tends to do things that seem unbelievable. While traveling to fetch the precious metals necessary to forge the counterfeit the young man fell, by pure chance, on the legendary kriss, buried in the sand of an oasis ... Little did he know that this event was about to change the course of his life.

The young prince was nervously waiting inside the throne room as his father was meeting with diplomats and nobles from across the kingdom. All of them were looking weary and anxious, for the Emir, his father, was a death's door, ravaged by an illness even the court physicians couldn't heal. With the old Emir's departure, the kingdom was facing a succession crisis, for seven princes had claim to the throne, all equal in status and rank, seniority being of little concern by the law if it wasn't followed by the blessing of the monarch. The Emir already refused to promise the crown to his eldest son earlier this day, increasing the uncertainty and the likelihood of seeing the nation decay into factionalism and civil war. But, at the last hour, with the sickly man almost collapsing on his large cushioned chair, he raised a thin hand and summoned his youngest son, the prince, to move forward.

So young was this prince he wasn't even considered an adult yet, for he still had to receive the ceremonial dagger marking his passage to maturity. In a gesture overflowing with symbolism, the dying Emir declared with a solemn voice that his last wish was to see his youngest become a man before he left for his last journey. Reaching for his belt, the old man unsheathed his curved Kandjar dagger, offering it to his youngest. Not only was that the Emir's blade, but the ornamented dagger had been passed from generation to generation between most recorded Emir. It was deeply connected to the crown, meaning that the young prince was now the heir apparent, even without it being explicitly said by the Emir. Even if the kind monarch couldn't push himself to pick a child and raise him above the rest, he, at last, averted a feud over his title by blessing one of his sons.

The single-edge blade curves, with a false edge on the reverse side of the tip to give the blade more piercing power.
