Alchemist Bracers

Your squire buckles the straps of your custom-fit Gothic Armour, adjusting it to be comfortable and snug over your gambeson. You paid top coin for this suit of plate, and you expect people will be impressed when they see how it shines on the battlefield.

Your blacksmith assured you that the Gothic Armour design was the latest in technology, able to withstand and deflect attacks--even arrows from the enemy’s bows. You are a mighty warrior, indeed, to be the owner of such fine craftsmanship. A fitting symbol of your godly-given status.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Gothic Arm Protection is a set of steel elbow cups--or couters--designed to protect the elbow joints. The elbow cups are rounded with reinforcing ridges and decorative steel rivets. Around the rim of each cup, a large V-shaped flange deflects blows away from the elbows. A half-rerebrace protects the upper arm while a vambrace protects the forearm below the couters. Top grain leather straps are used to close the braces and a third leather strap around the elbow keeps the piece in place.

The Gothic Arm Protection is made from mild steel with rolled edges that form ridges around the rims. The design is historically inspired by the renaissance, but the style and functionality is fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury armours, allowing freedom to combine armours and customize a character’s looks to fit your needs.

HISTORY

• Gothic style historically developed in the 1420-1440s thanks to technological advances
• Characterized by the curves, flutes and ridges, which strengthened the armour and deflected projectiles

1mm steel with over 30 points of articulation for ease of grip.

Your squire buckles the straps of your custom-fit Gauntlet, adjusting it to be comfortable and snug over your hand. You paid top coin for this armour, and you expect people will be impressed when they see how it shines on the battlefield.

Your blacksmith assured you that the Gauntlets’ design was the latest in technology, able to withstand and deflect attacks--even the worst of slashes to make it beyond your sword’s crossguard. You are a mighty warrior, indeed, to be the owner of such fine craftsmanship. A fitting symbol of your godly-given status.

DETAILS

These bestselling Epic Armoury Gauntlets are a set of early renaissance articulated steel gloves designed to provide maximal protection in combat without compromising manoeuvrability. From fingers to the forearm, you can expect these gauntlets to keep you safe. Each gauntlet protects the fingers, covering them to the tips with overlapping metal plates. The knuckles are protected by a rigid, sculpted knuckle plate. A short vambrace protects the wrist halfway up the forearm. The back of the hand and the thumb are protected with finely fitted overlapping steel plates decorated with shiny metal rivets.

The steel is fitted onto a flexible leather foundation and the gauntlet is worn via a leather glove underneath. The fingers of the glove are sewn onto the steel protection, with adjustable leather straps under the knuckles and at the wrist to secure the gauntlet onto the hand.

Made from polished mild steel with rolled edges, these gauntlets are impressive but neutral in appearance and fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury armours.

HISTORY

• Various forms of gauntlets have been around for millennia, but reached a pinnacle during the early renaissance
• Historically used by soldiers and knights and considered an essential piece of armour
