The vambraces are rather slender in comparison to the rest of the armour parts. For that reason, they will not hinder you when carrying a shield. They consist of three slightly curved segments and feature a comfortable cutout for your hand as well as slightly bent edges around the wrist, which significantly increase wearing comfort.

Epic Armoury’s Gambeson Arms are a set of quilted cotton vambraces designed to add comfort and protection beneath your armour. Made from quilted cotton canvas lined with a soft polyester interior and a medium cotton outer layer, they can be worn on their own or as padding beneath heavy steel or leather armour. Archers can also benefit from the added protection against bowstrings. Add this comfort without the warmth of a full gambeson shirt, specially designed for a costume without a breastplate and tassets.

The Gambeson Arms are stitched to ensure the padding will remain evenly spaced. Secure them to your arms by tightening the cotton string lacing through brass eyelets up the forearm. Quilted armours were common through many cultures and used across a broad expanse of time. With their neutral style, the Gambeson Arms will work on a wide variety of characters.

It consists of two interlaced moving segments; the interior front segment slants way down and rests against the torso, ensuring that neither your vision nor your breathing are impaired. The outer neck segment rests on the spaulders and is broad enough to offer full mobility for your head.

The armour belt is long enough even for broader hips and features three tassets. These are suspended from the belt from loops so that their position can be adjusted individually. In order to reduce the armour belt’s size, you can remove the central tasset and thus shorten the belt’s circumference.

At the heart of "Vigor" is the broad torso armour, which the large bevor can be attached to using buckles. The torso armour consists of flexibly connected chest and back plates. The lower parts protecting the chest and back consist of moving plates. Two straps on either side are used to close the torso armour and adjust the fit.

The sweeping knee protection is another design element of this armour set giving it its bold characteristics. Broad cutouts for your feet, as well as bent edges, increase comfort for longer wearing.

Humidity, expansion and contraction in the heat, UV radiation, rain, and the withering blows of your enemies all conspire to expose your armour to rust, but worse yet, your very own precious bodily fluids conspire to corrode it from the inside with their impurities and corruption! (which is why we only ever drink pure grain alcohol or rainwater)

You could coat your armour (and other metal objects) in a regular run of the mill lubricant, but many of them are actively hydrophobic. Great for metal but terrible for leather, cotton and other organic materials!

Lanox MX4 is a lanolin rich lubricant, and lanolin is the oil that is naturally produced by sheep to prevent them from shrinking in the rain and generally remain weather proof! It is superior to many artificial compounds and does not damage leathers or organic fibres.

Epic Armoury’s Warrior Arm Protection is a set of metal vambraces designed to protect the forearms from harm. Rounded at the edges and decorated with shiny steel rivets, these vambraces are designed to sit comfortably over the forearm, reaching from the elbow and narrowing at the wrists. Secure this armour with a top-grain leather strap below the elbow and another above the wrist.

The Warrior Arm Protection vambraces are neutral in style and fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s costume. • Unlike popular belief, arm protection was only called a “bracer” if it was meant to protect the forearm of an archer. Actual forearm protection like this would have been called a “vambrace” or “forearm guard”

The Bazuband is a compromise between the discomfort of gauntlets and the mobility of demi-gauntlets, providing comfort and the freedom of movement you desire. Paired with your own leather glove, these robust steel plates efficiently protect the back of your hand, thumb, and underarm while strong chainmail connect the plates to ensure unbridled--but protected--movement.

The "Rikomer" plate armor is the brother of our "Dragomir" armor. Elaborately manufactured, it consists of a large number of lames and elements that, when combined, result in an extraordinary armor that can hardly be more agile. Every part from Rikomer is carefully flanged and coordinated with one another. Unlike "Dragomir", this armor is not decorated with beads and thus has an uncompromising, brutal look that contrasts with the finely shaped parts. Rikomer impresses with its design and the masterful execution that makes this armor so unique. It is also a more affordable than its brother "Dragomir".

Armor like this is usually only available as a custom-made product and we had to fiddle a long time before we could get it ready for serial production. Of course, the fit must and can be optimized here and there by careful bending, but we have designed the armor in such a way that it can be carried into the field with maximum comfort. The individual parts are burnished to protect them from rust, making the Rikomer burnished particularly suitable for dark knights and fighters of chaos.

We generally recommend wearing a gambeson and arm and leg paddings under plate armor. This significantly improves wearing comfort and protection.
