Epic Armoury’s Berserker Helmet is an enclosed helmet designed to protect the entire head while intimidating enemies on the battlefield. The Berserker Helmet’s fixed nose and cheek guard gives the resemblance of a snarling animal muzzle, reinforced by the glaring eye slits in the faceguard. A lot of detail has gone into this helmet, including hammered rivets and ventilation around the mouth.

Oh no, you think, as a sword and a helmet are thrust into your farm-calloused hands. You’ve never been trained as a soldier, let alone asked to fight on a dangerous battlefield!

But here you are, suddenly standing in a row of your neighbors with your helmet secured over a padded Undercap. You await the advancing orc raid headed for your farms and your town, and you just hope that somehow you’ll make it through. At least your helmet feels solid on your head. That’s something to be thankful for, at least...right?

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Undercap is a padded hood that fits over the head and ears comfortably. Made from quilted cotton canvas lined with a soft polyester interior and a medium cotton outer layer, this padding can be worn on its own or as padding beneath a heavy steel or leather helmet.

The Undercap is stitched to ensure the padding will remain evenly spaced. Secure it to your head by tying the cotton cords under the chin. With its neutral style, the Undercap will work on a wide variety of characters. Match it with other Epic Armoury armours and clothes to fit your unique style!

HISTORY

• Used as padding under chainmail or plate armour
• Historically, a high-medieval European gambeson was recorded as being capable of stopping sword blows from penetrating the skin
• Could stop heavy arrows and mace and axe impacts with the addition of overlaying chainmail

This work of art is an original design from our team of designers at Calimacil. The inspiration came from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Every part of the handle is highly detailed, from the Chainmail of the Knight in the pommel visible to the two demonic horses heads in the guard. There is always a new detail to discover. This Epic Armoury Helmet Stand is a great way to display our helmets in your shop, booth, or in your own home. Directions for use:

Metal armour should never be stored on the ground where it can collect moisture and dirt. Use this stand in order to prolong the lifespan of your steel or leather helmet.

Always check your equipment before and after each use. Remember to treat with oil regularly, and to store in a dry place.

The best defence in life means nothing if it is eaten away by time and the elements, or even attacked from the inside.
And so it is with your own armour!
Humidity, expansion and contraction in the heat, UV radiation, rain, and the withering blows of your enemies all conspire to expose your armour to rust, but worse yet, your very own precious bodily fluids conspire to corrode it from the inside with their impurities and corruption! (which is why we only ever drink pure grain alcohol or rainwater)

You could coat your armour (and other metal objects) in a regular run of the mill lubricant, but many of them are actively hydrophobic. Great for metal but terrible for leather, cotton and other organic materials!

Lanox MX4 is a lanolin rich lubricant, and lanolin is the oil that is naturally produced by sheep to prevent them from shrinking in the rain and generally remain weather proof! It is superior to many artificial compounds and does not damage leathers or organic fibres.

A HEINOUS HELMET!

The Marauder Helmet provides unyielding, ruinous protection and is made from mild steel in Epic Dark and Epic Grey colours to emphasise a sinister and unholy origin. It is designed with star-shaped place-holder screws that are replaceable with mountable accessories such as the Mountable Demon Horns and minor grips, making it possible to attach heinous additions such as a Goblin Shrunken Head or a Halfling Tongue Trophy.

The Raider Helmet offers armour with an antique, almost amphibian appearance that is perfect for any combative character with an alien ambience. Epic Armoury’s Barbuta is a style of helmet inspired by Italian soldiers of the 15th century. Designed to protect the head during combat, the Barbuta is elegant as well as functional. The helmet covers the head, neck, and most of the face--while still offering clear vision through the helmet’s Y-shaped visor, which has been reinforced with additional rolled steel and rivets. Enjoy this sleek and easy to wear design, demanding attention on the battlefield with such details as the curved crest running from forehead to neck.

The Barbuta has been made to wear with renaissance style clothes, but it also has a high-fantasy feel. It has been popularized in modern culture as a helmet favoured by high-elves.

You will never tell them which might be true. Instead, as you sit just beyond the campfire and clean the blood from your Visored Barbuta, you simply listen...and smirk.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Visored Barbuta is a gracefully curved full-helmet with a distinctive visor. The visor is movable and can be flipped up over the helmet. Whether up or down, the visor can be locked in place with a pin-and-chain. The visor has two rectangular eye-slits, flat nose and a large Maltese-Cross breathing-hole. Wrought to follow the shape of the head and reinforced with a low crest from forehead to neck, the helmet is elegant while still being comfortable to wear.

The helmet gives full protection to head except at the throat. The Barbuta was used mainly by the flamboyant Italian mercenaries of the renaissance and was favoured with light troops for the mix of protection and excellent visibility. Made to wear with renaissance style clothes, it has a high-fantasy feel that will fit with a lot of characters.

• More accurately resembles a German “sallet” due to the visor
• A “barbuta” was a 15th century Italian design considered to be a specialized form of “sallet” without a visor
• Historical design also influenced Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Marvel Comics X-Men costumes

The one time a sugared loaf will actually protect your teeth!

Your Knight’s Code is one of valor, truth, and courage. You are tasked with defending the innocent and the weak, and today your oath is being tested. Outside of town there has been a bandit attack on a merchant and his family, and it’s up to you to rescue them.
