SAVAGE SAFEGUARD

Taking inspiration from the semi-curved kite shaped shields used by the Normans of the early Middle Ages, the Maurauder Kite Shield works just as well for a goblin invader or a brutal orc from a high fantasy realm as it would for a battleworn European knight from the ninth century or a pillaging Viking.

Crafted from durable closed cell foam and coated with latex, this shield is more than ready for LARP battle. Sculpted and hand-painted with realistic details like scratches and notches, this shield features a dark matte metallic finish and metallic trim with rivets. A stylized cross appears at the center. This sword has a 65 cm fullered blade designed to be lightweight, while maintaining its structural stability. Made from EVA foam around a fibreglass core and finished with a strong and impressive paintwork, this sword is just as soft as any latex coated weapon but even more sturdy in battle! 

The longer version exhibits a 20 cm long, highly detailed spacer made from polyurethane foam, that is hand painted and textured to look like eroded or corrupted metal with thorny growths. The steel coloured crossguard is embellished with a skeleton face, and the handle is cast and painted to appear like it has been wrapped with the flayed skin of cowards. A spiked ring pommel accentuates the cruel nature of this design - this sword screams evil!

Due to the density of the blade, there is a chance of paint being rubbed off due to the friction caused when the blade and another dry surface makes contact. To mitigate this, we advise you to coat the blade with Epic Armoury Protection Gel rather than regular maintenance silicone spray, which will reduce the friction and in turn stress on the paint.

LEGEND

From deep recesses in the walls, the chants of twisted throats echoed out into the cavern. There was no light but Awakened needed nothing so base to perceive what was real. The cultist had removed the blindfold that shaded their dark sockets from the world’s lies and turned their head in the direction of that whimpering thing which still tried to escape its fate, that writhing creature so similar to what they had once, pitifully, been. It had believed itself to be safe, shielded by walls and strength but few things kept an Awakened from their chosen prey.

The cultist let out a long rasping exhale as they readied the unfinished dagger before beginning to drag their feet towards the offering which scrambled away from the noise… and into the grasp of many awaiting arms. Shrieks filled the stone enclosure but could not drown out the prayers that reached much further than the mere flesh of one’s ear. Time shuddered, stretching and compressing as the offering was cast before the ever seeing gaze that will one day consume all. When the ruined body crumpled to the ground, the Awakened cultist raised their arm. Clenched in their bony fist, the dagger’s new eye rolled wildly in the previously empty socket.

WORKSHOP

The first creation within our new Cult of the Awakened collection, the Sakreiegt dagger has sparked the imagination of many in our workshop. Its name is inspired from the Middle English words sakred (sacrifice), eie (eye) and rigt (true). The handle, while shaped to comfortably fit within the hand, bears the appearance of a creature with a ridged belly, uncanny eyes and a maw that splits wide and from which extends a blade decorated with spiraling tendrils. Inspired by the mythoi of cosmic horror and legendary monsters of old, this dagger embodies the otherworldly.

The Human Shrunken Head is 12cm tall and 8cm wide with a broad nose and round ears. Sculpted and hand painted details make it appear as if the head had been cut off, de-boned and preserved through a drying process. The matching helmet to our armor series Edward. Its design is based on historical great helmets, but with more dynamic shaped eye slits. Like all pieces from this series the offset beading and the decorative rivets make it a real eye-catcher.

The helmet has a circumference of 60cm to 62cm, so it is made for larger heads.

The helmet Kaldor matches Mytholons series Edward perfectly. Same as the helmet Edward its design is based on historical great helmets, but with different shaped eye slits. The front is separately accentuated in this helmet and the top part is adorned with four decorative plates like a crown. On the back it has got a felixble plate that covers the back of the head.

Lothar's jaw was set in grim determination. As one of the King's elite guardsmen he had a duty to protect the Queen and the royal heir. Epic Armoury’s Raven Helmet is a skull cap helmet inspired by the spangenhelm of the early medieval period. A HANDSOMELY HIDEOUS HELMET!

“How do they look? I do not know! The few times I was unfortunate to cross their path, I never saw a full face. Their glaring eyes glowed in the dark on the far side of the mire, but I saw only darkness up close. Pray that you shall never meet these raiding inhuman predators!”

The Raider Helmet offers armour with an antique, almost amphibian appearance that is perfect for any combative character with an alien ambience. The helmet is made of mild steel and padded with leather for comfort. It is the crowning piece of the Raider Armour but can be combined with other armour types for a specialised look. Whether you play human or monster, dragon rider or mire walker, noble savage or evil lurker, the Raider Helmet will contribute to unforgettable characters in future stories!

This helmet is the classic bascinet with visor. It is a rounded face mask with slim slits for the eyes and many holes in the face for better breathing.

The visor can be moved to the top to have an uncovered face for communication and better visibility.

Additionally the helmet is equipped with a long sleeve of chain mail to protect neck and shoulders. It is woven in the classical european "4-in-1" pattern and unrivited. The rings have an inner diameter of 10mm and a thickness of 1mm.

The helmet is made from 1,6mm steel and therefore thick enough for LARP and stagefight purposes.

Epic Armoury’s Visored Barbuta is a gracefully curved full-helmet with a distinctive visor. The visor is movable and can be flipped up over the helmet. Whether up or down, the visor can be locked in place with a pin-and-chain. The visor has two rectangular eye-slits, flat nose and a large Maltese-Cross breathing-hole. Wrought to follow the shape of the head and reinforced with a low crest from forehead to neck, the helmet is elegant while still being comfortable to wear.

The helmet gives full protection to head except at the throat. The Barbuta was used mainly by the flamboyant Italian mercenaries of the renaissance and was favoured with light troops for the mix of protection and excellent visibility. Made to wear with renaissance style clothes, it has a high-fantasy feel that will fit with a lot of characters.
