Epic Armoury’s Shoulder Plate Giant Warrior are a set of two shoulder guards designed to protect the shoulder-joints and upper arm. This armour’s metal plates overlap one another to provide complete laminate protection. Overlaying the spaulders is a large pauldron, which provides additional protection to joints and armpits. Atop the pauldron a vertical plate sword breaker catches and deflects blows before they can impact the head. The sword breaker is slightly concave and somewhat higher at the back than the front, thus providing protection without impairing vision. Although the armour is designed to match Epic Armoury’s ‘Warrior’ set, it is fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury armours in order to fully customize your character’s look.

Secure the Shoulder Plate Giant Warrior by tightening the top leather strap onto a breast- or neck-plate, adjusting so that the armour sits comfortably over the shoulder. Epic Armoury’s Ready-for-Battle Mantle is a quilted cotton pad designed to add comfort and protection beneath your neck and shoulder armour. Humidity, expansion and contraction in the heat, UV radiation, rain, and the withering blows of your enemies all conspire to expose your armour to rust, but worse yet, your very own precious bodily fluids conspire to corrode it from the inside with their impurities and corruption! (which is why we only ever drink pure grain alcohol or rainwater)

You could coat your armour (and other metal objects) in a regular run of the mill lubricant, but many of them are actively hydrophobic. Great for metal but terrible for leather, cotton and other organic materials!

Lanox MX4 is a lanolin rich lubricant, and lanolin is the oil that is naturally produced by sheep to prevent them from shrinking in the rain and generally remain weather proof! It is superior to many artificial compounds and does not damage leathers or organic fibres.

Epic Armoury’s Polished Steel Milanese Pauldrons are a pair of simple low-fantasy shoulderguards. The pauldrons rest on top of the shoulders and cover the upper arms and a large portion of the upper back. Both are attractively curved to add structural strength to the steel while maintaining flexibility thanks to the overlapping plates. Asymmetrical in design, the left pauldron is fitted with a vertical plate designed to protect the head from glancing blows. These steel riveted pieces have been polished to a high-gloss finish to appeal to the knights in shining armour.

The Milanese Pauldrons are embellished with a top beveled plate to further deflect attacks, as well as a chain pin to attach an insignia. The large, segmented spaulders from Mytholon's  "Elias" series.

The original, typical spaulder has a segment added to it and therefore looks even more impressing. The spaulders are being fixed by a buckle-strap on the gorget, and a single strap under your upper arm.

The gorget is not included and is required when used in conjunction with the rest of the Elias set.

Bigger is Bad Arse-r!

This massive pair of pauldrons has been built with additional sword breakers attached on top of the shoulder. The spaulders are built from two parts (shoulder and upper arm) and attach to an exsisting breastplate to hold them in place.

The spaulders are made in the style of the "Edward" armour: a ridge along the edge and many decorative rivets surrounding it. The pieces for the upper arm are something very special: they are built anatomically, so that they rest on the upper arm very tight and comfortably.

A pair of huge spaulders, equipped with sword breakers and besagew on each side, will give you that truly heroic Paladin look.
The spaulders are made from multiple parts that are riveted together. This way the wearer will still be able to move his arms freely and is not limited in movement.

The sword breakers on the inside enlarge the entire spaulder from the side view. Use the inner buckle to strap the spaulders to the "Galahad" armour set. There is also a buckle-strap for the upper arm.
The besagew cover the armpit, the place with auxilliary arteries - vital parts, so to say. This is the armour part, where you have the possibility to paint your own heraldic colours onto. A small colourful armour piece will loose up the complete blank look of the armour.

Epic Armoury’s Dreki Pauldrons are a set of pauldrons with shoulder guards and spaulders, protecting the shoulders and upper armours. These robust steel plates efficiently protect the back of your shoulders and upper arm, while maintaining the same Nordic inspired, imposing, design that is common for the Dreki set. With overlapping plates and rivets and angular design gives these pauldrons an intimidating look, with plates in Epic Dark, that runs down the middle of the pauldron, to give symmetry to the pauldrons. The upper arm protection consists of three pieces of overlapping steel plates held together with two bands leather, which is spilt down the middle with an Epic Dark coated plate, designed to keep symmetry. The Dreki Pauldrons together by two tie strings that is attached to the Dreki cuirass or other compatible torso armours, along with a strap on the lower plate of the Dreki pauldron. A SHOULDER TO DIE ON!

The Marauder Pauldrons provide unyielding, ruinous protection, made from mild steel in Epic Dark and Epic Grey colours to emphasise a sinister and unholy origin. They are designed with star-shaped place-holder screws that are replaceable with the Mountable Demon Horns and minor grips, making it possible to attach heinous additions such as an Orc Shrunken Head or a Human Tongue Trophy.

HISTORY

The word pauldron is derived from the Old French words espauleron, which means a shoulder-plate, and espaule, which means shoulder.

Epic Armoury’s Gothic Gorget & Shoulders is fully articulated and designed to provide protection for the throat, neck and shoulders while minimizing the exposure of weak-spots. The armour is a four-piece set: a two piece gorget and two shoulders. The gorget covers the thorax to the sternum and is furnished with several ridges and two large octagonal besagues (round metal shields) to protect the notoriously under-armoured armpits from arrow-strikes. The two parts are fitted together with vegetable tanned top-grain leather straps. The gorget also provides fastenings for the shoulders. The shoulders are composed of articulated spaulders covering the shoulder-joint and upper arms, reinforced with large pauldrons sculpted to look like dragon’s wings to further protect the armpits. The shoulder plates are strapped on at the gorget and around the upper arms.

The Gothic Arm Protection is made from mild steel with rolled edges that form ridges around the rims. The design is historically inspired by the renaissance, but the style and functionality is fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury armours, allowing freedom to combine armours and customize a character’s looks to fit your needs.
