This bestselling Ready for Battle Gambeson is a padded armour coat covering the torso, abdomen, back and upper arms. It can be worn on its own or serve as essential padding under mail or armour. The gambeson is donned like a jacket and closed on the front with four leather straps with iron buckles.

Thick enough to serve as its own armour, this sturdy gambeson is constructed with heavy layers of fluffed cotton padding sandwiched between coloured heavy cotton, all stitched together in vertical lines. The front of this breastplate circles the wearer’s neck in an inverted U-shape, with the chest apex protecting the thorax before sloping around the ribcage to protect under the arms. Thankfully, his armour had held up, and the padded greaves underneath had absorbed the worst of the blows. As he removed his armour and padding, he took a deep breath and almost gagged. Epic Armoury's Padded Squire Greaves are made like a gambeson in that they feature thick padding underneath a layer of fabric designed to be used either as armour on its own or as padding beneath steel armour.

These bracers are thick cotton padding and with a cotton fabric covering it. A single long and 2 cm wide herringbone-cotton bane winds through the eight eye holes and allows you to tighten the greaves around your lower leg to secure a comfortable fit. Where it covers the top of your foot, it has been stitched to ensure that it doesn't bend around your foot and instead covers it.

Humidity, expansion and contraction in the heat, UV radiation, rain, and the withering blows of your enemies all conspire to expose your armour to rust, but worse yet, your very own precious bodily fluids conspire to corrode it from the inside with their impurities and corruption! (which is why we only ever drink pure grain alcohol or rainwater)

You could coat your armour (and other metal objects) in a regular run of the mill lubricant, but many of them are actively hydrophobic. Great for metal but terrible for leather, cotton and other organic materials!

Lanox MX4 is a lanolin rich lubricant, and lanolin is the oil that is naturally produced by sheep to prevent them from shrinking in the rain and generally remain weather proof! It is superior to many artificial compounds and does not damage leathers or organic fibres.

ARMOURS FOR THE ADVENTUROUS MERCENARY

Epic Armoury’s Renegade Greaves are a set of 1mm mild steel leg guards designed to cover the shin and lower front leg, while also maintaining agility. Epic Armoury’s Gothic Leg Protection consists of cuisses to protect the lower thighs, articulated poleyns covering the knees, and half demi-greaves protecting the upper shins and sides of the calves. The poleyon knee-cups are articulated, composed of four overlaying plates and fitted with a projecting heart-shaped plate adding cover to the notoriously under-protected hamstring. This armour piece is held up via straps tied to the wearer’s belt and held in place via guiding straps around the thighs and calves.

The "Dragomir" plate armor is incredibly elaborate. It consists of a multitude of lames and finely shaped elements which, when combined, result in extraordinary armor that can hardly be more agile. Every part by "Dragomir" is carefully flanged, decorated with beads and coordinated with one another. They impress with their shape and the masterful execution that makes this armor so unique.

If you like it a little less decorated and want to save some money, you should check out "Dragomir's" brother "Rikomer". Technically identical, "Rikomer" dispenses the decorative beads in favor of a more brutal look and a lower price.

Armor like this is usually only available as a custom-made product and Mytholon had to fiddle a long time before they could get it ready for series production. Of course, the fit must and can be optimized here and there by careful bending, but Mytholon have designed the armor in such a way that it can be carried into the field with maximum comfort.

The individual parts of the Dark varient are burnished to protect against rust and are particularly suitable for dark knights or fighters of chaos.

Steel varient "Dragomir" is particularly suitable for dragon knights or fighters of light.

We generally recommend wearing a gambeson and arm & leg paddings under plate armor. This significantly improves wearing comfort and protection.

The Moina greaves are kept simple, but with their curved tip they look both slim and elegant. Matching the rest of the Mina set, the bracers also have a circumferential bead.

Epic Armoury’s Black Ice Arm & Leg Protection is an essential for any person intending to experience the battlefield. Due to these vambraces’ and greaves’ austere style, this packaged deal is an armour solution that is particularly well suited for a dark and serious character with ill-intention. While specifically designed for ConQuest’s Non-Player Character group, the Black Ice, feel free to use this armour to fit your own character’s design.

Two leather straps are used to keep each piece in place, adjusting for a perfect fit. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, these armour pieces are built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.
