The battle has lasted for three long days and the blood from both sides runs knee deep. You are exhausted and are unsure how much longer you can last when you see a break in the front lines. The enemy is making a last desperate push.
You are caught in front of their wave, and you feel the awful force of an enemy sword slash across your gut. Your Ragnar Chainmail stops the blade from cutting, buying you the time to fight back and slay your foe.
Epic Armoury's new Epic Black Ragnar Chainmail is a flexible mail armour shirt made from linked steel rings. The mail covers the body from the shoulder to the thighs, and has long sleeves protecting the arms to the wrists. Each butted ring interlocks with four other rings in a 4-in-1 design, while the armpits are reinforced with riveted rings designed to cope with additional stress. Treated with Epic Armoury’s Dark Metal coat to prevent rust, you can expect this armour to last a long time as reenactment gear with proper metal care.
The Ragnar Chainmail is long sleeve mail great for heavy medieval infantry and sergeants, as well as early knights. Wear it over one of our gambesons for the most comfort and authentic wear. Pair this armour with additional Epic Armoury metal works and clothing to fit your character’s needs.

Epic Armoury’s Warrior Gambeson is a padded long-sleeve coat covering the torso from neck, down over the hips on front and back. It can be worn on its own or serve as essential padding under mail or armour. The gambeson is donned like a jacket and closed on the front with five leather straps and brass buckles, allowing the wearer to customize the tightness of the fit. The arms are easily detachable by untying its cotton cords on the shoulders and sleeves, each cord secured through long-lasting brass eyelets.
Thick enough to serve as its own armour, this sturdy gambeson is constructed with heavy layers of fluffed cotton canvas sandwiched between layers of heavy cotton canvas. All these layers are stitched together in vertical lines, keeping the padding in place and mimicking a classic European high-medieval style.
Though of European cut, gambeson or quilted-style armours have seen world-wide use since antediluvian times, making the Warrior Gambeson a great basic armour with a range of possibilities regardless of time and place.
