Epic Armoury's new Alaric Chainmail Hood is a flexible mail armour coif made from linked steel rings. The mail covers the head, neck and shoulders. Each butted ring interlocks with four other rings in a 4-in-1 design. Treated with Epic Armoury’s Dark Metal coat to prevent rust, you can expect this armour to last a long time as reenactment gear with proper metal care.

The Alaric Chainmail is mail great for heavy medieval infantry and sergeants, as well as early knights. Wear it over one of our undercaps and add a Crusader, Norman or Spangen helmet on top for the most comfort and authentic wear. Each butted ring interlocks with four other rings in a 4-in-1 design, while the armpits are reinforced with riveted rings designed to cope with additional stress. You await the advancing orc raid headed for your farms and your town, and you just hope that somehow you’ll make it through. At least your helmet feels solid on your head. DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Undercap is a padded hood that fits over the head and ears comfortably. Made from quilted cotton canvas lined with a soft polyester interior and a medium cotton outer layer, this padding can be worn on its own or as padding beneath a heavy steel or leather helmet.

The Undercap is stitched to ensure the padding will remain evenly spaced. Secure it to your head by tying the cotton cords under the chin. With its neutral style, the Undercap will work on a wide variety of characters. Match it with other Epic Armoury armours and clothes to fit your unique style!
