DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Mercenary Torso Plate is a cuirass made from leather and steel covering the front and back of the wearer's torso. The front of this breastplate circles the wearer’s neck in an inverted U-shape, with the chest apex protecting the thorax before sloping around the ribcage to protect under the arms. The lower edge of the breast plate is slightly rounded, allowing it to fit around the crests of the hips and still cover the vulnerable pelvis. The steel plate is fitted on a leather suit, which straps to the back leather plate at the shoulders and the sides.
The Mercenary Torso Plate is designed to match Epic Armoury’s Mercenary Armour, but is fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s costume. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.
HISTORY
- Plate armour became more popular as firearm technology became more prevalent during the 13th century
- Historically designed with sculpted ridges and overlapping plates to provide reinforced protection and to deflect attacks on a chaotic battlefield
SIZING NOTE: The small is sometimes much smaller than on the sizing chart for this particular product.
You were not born a soldier. If anything, you were born to be quite the opposite! A farmer’s child, you grew up working the land and minding your own business. You never expected that one day your lord might come for you and demand that you join his army in the name of the kingdom--and the safety of your family.
You couldn’t afford much in way of armour, but you did manage to put together enough money for a Secret Helmet. Helmets are the most important armour you can own, and you can only hope that it might save your life so you might one day return to your fields.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Secret Helmet is a sturdy and simple helmet inspired by commoner’s armour of 12th century Europe. The Secret Helmet is perfect when a visually stunning helmet would be too flashy on the battlefield, gaining unwanted attention. This helmet offers great protection to your head without being imposing, easily concealed beneath a cloak, cape, or even a large hat.
Secure the Secret Helmet by tightening the leather strap beneath the chin, keeping the helmet in place. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.
HISTORY
- Also referred to as a cervelliere
- Worn during the medieval period, introduced during the 12th century
- Cheap and easy production made this a typical commoner and non-professional soldier helmet

" ["description_long"]=> string(1729) "The best defence in life means nothing if it is eaten away by time and the elements, or even attacked from the inside.
And so it is with your own armour!
Humidity, expansion and contraction in the heat, UV radiation, rain, and the withering blows of your enemies all conspire to expose your armour to rust, but worse yet, your very own precious bodily fluids conspire to corrode it from the inside with their impurities and corruption! (which is why we only ever drink pure grain alcohol or rainwater)
You could coat your armour (and other metal objects) in a regular run of the mill lubricant, but many of them are actively hydrophobic. Great for metal but terrible for leather, cotton and other organic materials!
Lanox MX4 is a lanolin rich lubricant, and lanolin is the oil that is naturally produced by sheep to prevent them from shrinking in the rain and generally remain weather proof! It is superior to many artificial compounds and does not damage leathers or organic fibres.

DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Merc Light Armour is a cuirass made from leather and steel covering the front of the wearer's torso. The front of this breastplate circles the wearer’s neck, sloping around the rib cage to protect under the arms. The lower edge of the breastplate rests over the sternum, curved to protect bone while providing lots of flexibility for the waist. The steel plate is fitted onto brown leather straps, attached to a large steel ring behind the shoulderblades. This design allows for the most maneuverability on varied body shapes and torso lengths.
The Merc Light Armour is designed to be easily worn and removed. The shoulder straps are secured to the breastplate using sturdy steel pins, so no apprentice is required! Match this armour with other Epic Armoury metal products and customize your character’s costume. Made of 1 mm thick galvanized steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.
HISTORY
- Plate armour became more popular as firearm technology became more prevalent during the 13th century
- Historically designed with sculpted ridges and overlapping plates to provide reinforced protection and to deflect attacks on a chaotic battlefield
- A ‘mercenary’ is a person who is paid money to fight for a foreign army, and is often associated with behavior overly concerned with money rather than ethics
They approached the entrace to the abandoned temple. Treme casting his glance at the incredibly lifelike statue that stood at the gate.
Too life like. Like its eyes were following him. But that was ridiculous. No one had been here in years and any magics would have long since wickered away.
No, there couldn't be anyone here. The only person that even knew this place existed was the strange man at the tavern that seemed far too emotionally attached to his obviously fake beard and heavy, clanky, armour.
You watch the caravan coming up the road from far off, counting at least two guards and a handful of merchants. Only one of them is on horseback, with the cart pulled by a sad pair of mules.
You feel confident in your new Rogue Torso armour, smirking as you signal to your fellows who lie in the shadows. There may not be much to steal, but you and your mates will take it all.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Epic Dark Rogue Torso is a cuirass made from leather and steel. This breastplate circles the neck in a narrow U-shape, with the steel chest protecting the thorax before sloping around the ribcage to protect under the arms. The steel plate is fitted on brown leather using heavy-duty rivets, and is secured using straps around the back and across the shoulderblades. The lower edge of the breast plate rounds to fit against the crest of the hips, dipping down into a point at the front. This design is mimicked by the overlapped leather plate, which also serves as an anchor for the Rogue Tassets.
The Rogue Torso is designed to match Epic Armoury’s Rogue Armour, but is fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s costume. Made of 1 mm thick galvanized mild steel and top-grain leather, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

Someone might say that you are a cruel person. The truth is that you aren’t cruel--but you certainly aren’t a hero, either. The Battle of Delle is not one for your homeland or for your own people, but the pay is good and the fighting even better.
Life as a mercenary has made you into a hardened and effective warrior, and while some call it ‘luck’ when your enemy’s sword slides off your Merc Armour, you call it strategy. After all, now your enemy’s heart is a wide open target.

Practical Protection for the Body
Epic Armoury’s Soldier Torso is a handmade cuirass and backplate, designed to protect the front and back of the torso and abdomen. This low-fantasy design is meant to fit an assortment of characters, and is inspired by historical medieval armour. It’s simple form comes in a range of sizes, and can easily be used by most people thanks to its curve and ability to overlap beneath the arms. The plate rests at the hips and has small rolled flanges around its edges.
Secure the Soldiers Torso by attaching the breastplate and backplate together over the chest. Six leather straps are riveted to the backplate, and are adjusted using the buckles attached to the breastplate. Tighten and adjust to your size, ideally over a padded gambeson for the most comfort. Made of polished 1 mm thick steel and chrome leather straps, this armour is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

Consisting of overlapping steel plates that forms a breastplate and an attached steel backplate, this armour is sculpted to fit the body after securing the leather straps at the shoulders and around the sides of your frame comfortably. With overlapping plates, rivets and its lean form, you can feel like a fantasy norsemen, braving the harsh wilderness and slaying ancient dragons among snow covered peaks.
The Dreki Cuirass is has two colours, the primary being a Matte Polish and the secondary being Epic Dark, to highlight different aspects of the Dreki armour and again show its Nordic inspired roots. Made of 1 mm thick polished mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.
INSPIRATION
- Based in fantasy inspired Nordic Armour such as Skyrim,Dark Souls and modern depictions in other fictional media
You look upon your leading officer as he makes his way down the line of your fellow soldiers. Your fate and the fate of your entire unit is dependent on this veteran’s word, and you find yourself relieved not to shoulder such a heavy burden.
“We must fight!” your officer shouts for all to hear. You adjust your Warrior Breastplate, double checking the buckles as you listen to him continue. “For our homes and for our families, we will fight until we can fight no more!” With a resounding cheer, your fellow soldiers ready themselves for the charge. You withdraw your weapon, eager and afraid all at once.
The battle has begun.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Warrior Breastplate is a simple low-fantasy piece of armour protecting the front of the torso and abdomen. The plate rests at the hips and has a V-shaped flange--or sword turner--that deflects blows from the weak spot where torso and leg armour fit together. Sculpted to fit the body and add structural strength to the steel, this steel riveted piece has been polished to a high-gloss finish to appeal to the elven and human knights in shining armour.
The Warrior Breastplate is neutral in style and fully usable with all Epic Armoury backplates. Wear it alone or with the backplate of your choice to customize your character’s costume and make it your own. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.
