Epic Armoury’s Polished Steel Burgonet is a protective helmet with a visor based on the historical helmet used in the 16th century by cavalry units. The visor is reinforced and shaped to fit comfortably around the face without constricting vision, framing a face protected by extended cheek guards. A crest runs along the top of the helmet from front to rear, acting as a deflector against strikes, while a curved neck-plate protects the back of the neck. When you require a little extra protection, this Burgonet is fashioned with a riveted metal bar--keeping the separately available Burgonet Faceplate in place.
Secure the Burgonet helmet by tightening the leather strap beneath the chin, keeping the helmet in place. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel, top-grain vegetable-tanned leather straps, and steel buckles this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

But here you are, suddenly standing in a row of your neighbors with your helmet secured over a padded Undercap. You await the advancing orc raid headed for your farms and your town, and you just hope that somehow you’ll make it through. At least your helmet feels solid on your head. That’s something to be thankful for, at least...right?
DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Undercap is a padded hood that fits over the head and ears comfortably. Made from quilted cotton canvas lined with a soft polyester interior and a medium cotton outer layer, this padding can be worn on its own or as padding beneath a heavy steel or leather helmet.
The Undercap is stitched to ensure the padding will remain evenly spaced. Secure it to your head by tying the cotton cords under the chin. With its neutral style, the Undercap will work on a wide variety of characters. Match it with other Epic Armoury armours and clothes to fit your unique style!

Epic Armoury’s Soldier Shoulder is a set of two shoulder guards with spaulders and pauldrons. The spaulder is made from a single plate, shaped to provide protection to the upper arm. The large pauldrons are also made from one plate, curved to sit over the shoulders and overlap the breastplate. This design offers more protection to the otherwise vulnerable armpit. The shoulderplates are fastened with leather straps around the biceps and at the shoulder, tying to a breast- and backplate with an adjustable leather shoulder piece. Epic Armoury breast- and backplates can be purchased separately and have fittings for mounting the shoulders.

A Noble’s Neck Protection
Epic Armoury’s Green Noble Leather Bevor is a piece of handmade leather armour designed to protect the face and neck, inspired by traditional armour worn during the medieval period. Complete Elbow Protection
Epic Armoury’s Milanese Couter is a low-fantasy set of armour designed to protect the elbows--including the sides and a portion of the arms, thwarting even the craftiest rogue. Its shape is intended to not only block blows, but to deflect them away safely. A curved shelf is riveted and welded along its edge, catching strikes that would otherwise slide onto the arms.
The Milanese Couter is one piece, constructed using mild steel. One leather strap is used to keep each of the couters in place. Conveniently placed eyelets can be used to attach the couter firmly to a gambeson or shirt. With regular leather and metal care you can expect this quality made armour to last for a long time!

Humidity, expansion and contraction in the heat, UV radiation, rain, and the withering blows of your enemies all conspire to expose your armour to rust, but worse yet, your very own precious bodily fluids conspire to corrode it from the inside with their impurities and corruption! (which is why we only ever drink pure grain alcohol or rainwater)
You could coat your armour (and other metal objects) in a regular run of the mill lubricant, but many of them are actively hydrophobic. Great for metal but terrible for leather, cotton and other organic materials!
Lanox MX4 is a lanolin rich lubricant, and lanolin is the oil that is naturally produced by sheep to prevent them from shrinking in the rain and generally remain weather proof! It is superior to many artificial compounds and does not damage leathers or organic fibres.

Epic Armoury’s Sallet is a protective helmet with a movable visor closely based on the historical helmet used in 15th century Germany. The visor is reinforced and shaped to fit comfortably around the face while still providing good air flow through its ventilation holes. This helmet is covered with detail that is both beautiful and practical. Wear the visor over the forehead or the face thanks to its flower-decorated hinge, or enjoy the decorative reinforcement plating along the brow. A flexible lobster neck-plate protects the back of the head behind the ears.
Secure the Sallet helmet by tightening the leather strap beneath the chin, keeping the helmet in place. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

This helmet is built along the historical bouronet from the early 16th century. The head is well protected inside a round scull cap with a high riser in the centre of the spine. The face is covered by the small brim in the front and the two cheek flaps on the sides. Both flaps are punched with a floral pattern aside the ears to allow a better hearing.
The helmet has an enlongened neckpiece, so that the part between cuirass and helmet is closed as well.
The burgonet developed from the sallet in the 16th century and was, just behind the Morion, the most worn helmet in the 16th and 17th century.
We recommend to wear a padded coif underneath to avoid scratches and bruises. This will maximize your comfort.

Epic Armoury’s Barbuta is a style of helmet inspired by Italian soldiers of the 15th century. Designed to protect the head during combat, the Barbuta is elegant as well as functional. Epic Armoury’s Visored Barbuta is a gracefully curved full-helmet with a distinctive visor. The visor is movable and can be flipped up over the helmet. Whether up or down, the visor can be locked in place with a pin-and-chain. The visor has two rectangular eye-slits, flat nose and a large Maltese-Cross breathing-hole. Wrought to follow the shape of the head and reinforced with a low crest from forehead to neck, the helmet is elegant while still being comfortable to wear.
The helmet gives full protection to head except at the throat. The Barbuta was used mainly by the flamboyant Italian mercenaries of the renaissance and was favoured with light troops for the mix of protection and excellent visibility. Made to wear with renaissance style clothes, it has a high-fantasy feel that will fit with a lot of characters.

Epic Armoury’s Polished Steel Burgonet is a protective helmet with a visor based on the historical helmet used in the 16th century by cavalry units. The visor is reinforced and shaped to fit comfortably around the face without constricting vision, framing a face protected by extended cheek guards. A crest runs along the top of the helmet from front to rear, acting as a deflector against strikes, while a curved neck-plate protects the back of the neck. When you require a little extra protection, this Burgonet is fashioned with a riveted metal bar--keeping the separately available Burgonet Faceplate in place.
