Designed to add comfort and protection beneath your Epic Armoury Scout Shoulders, this Scout Shoulder Gambeson is a must have when you venture into battle. Made from quilted cotton encasement and lined with a soft polyester interior, this product has a stitching that ensures the padding remaining evenly spaced. Secure it around your neck by tying the cotton strings in front and wear it just on its own or as padding beneath any heavy steel or leather armour. Quilted armour was common through many cultures and time periods, and with its interchangeable style and affordable price, the Scout Shoulder Gambeson will work on a wide variety of LARP characters.

The likelihood of a scout getting lost was slim, but bound to happen eventually--you just never expected that such a thing might happen to you. You swear you’ve been by this same tree three or four times. Yes, you’re sure of it. You left notches in one of its limbs using your Scout Sword.

Suddenly you grow quiet, clutching tightly around the leather of your sword’s handle as you hear nearby voices. Just around the next tree you spot two of the enemy’s scouts...and they look just as lost as you do. Perhaps there is more going on here than you first realized.

DETAILS

Stronghold’s Scout Sword is a medium sword inspired by nordic weaponry. The sword is 75 cm long and has a 58 cm double-edged blade with a central ridge. The handle has a lot of detail, including a curved crossguard and ‘cocked-hat’ pommel--both similar to those seen on uncovered Viking swords. The crossguard and pommel are handpainted to looks like faded iron and bronze. The 10 cm grip is cast and painted to look like woven leather, ergonomically shaped to fit the hand comfortably.

Stronghold weapons are foam weapons designed for tough combat at LARPs. They require no maintenance, unlike latex weapons, and feature detailed polyurethane handles.

This Stronghold blade is crafted using a unique Epic Foam that weighs the same as latex without requiring the constant upkeep. Epic Armoury’s Scouts Gauntlets are a set of mild steel gloves designed to protect the wrist, back of the hand and forearm in combat without sacrificing all manoeuvrability. Each gauntlet consists of three overlapping plates, secured together using a sturdy, but flexible strap of leather. The 10 cm wide hand plate and short vambrace are made from 1mm steel, forged to fit comfortably over the first knuckles and around the curve of the arm. The vambrace is 11 cm wide at the wrist, and increases to 20 cm around the forearm. The top 11 cm wide plate is made of thicker 1.5mm steel, shaped so that it won’t rub uncomfortably against your rotating wrists.

 These Scouts Gauntlets fits comfortably over your own leather gloves, secured with a leather band around the palm, thumb, and wrist. Epic Armoury’s Scout Belt Shields are two plates designed to protect the thighs. These rolled edged steel plates hang from your own belt to cover the outer thighs, sliding into place using brown leather loops securely fastened with rivets. Each plate is 25cm long and 21cm wide, with two 24cm folded leather loops.

The Scout’s Belt Shield armour is designed to be simple, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s costume by pairing it with a multitude of styles. This armour also does not require assistance to equip, because it is very easy to put on and take off. Mytholon's Vigor armour was designed for the more imposing characters on the battlefield – referring not only to their formidable fighting style. This armour sets generous dimensions make it comfortable for longer periods of time even for powerfully built warriors of any gender. 

The style is reminiscent of the massive armour suits familiar from certain well-known manufacturers of war based tabletop miniatures games that require hammers. The oversized bevor in particular lends the armour suit its exceptional look. "Vigor" is slightly burnished, giving the armour pieces a worn but well cared for appearance. The burnishing procedure may cause small spots similar to rain spatters. As the finish is applied individually for hand it is unique for every single set.
If you’d prefer your armour unburnished, and looking like a shiny warrior of light that constantly praises something, you can also easily remove the burnishing layer using a polishing cloth.

The bevor contributes a lot to the armour sets brute look. It is easy to adorn with wax seals or emblazon it with your coat of arms. It consists of two interlaced moving segments; the interior front segment slants way down and rests against the torso, ensuring that neither your vision nor your breathing are impaired. The outer neck segment rests on the spaulders and is broad enough to offer full mobility for your head.

It goes without saying that all edges of these armour pieces are rounded.

The parts of this armour set are manufactured by hand. For this reason, we ask you to allow for slight deviations in measurements and weight.

Adjustments to several of the measurements are possible by carefully bending the respective armour parts.

The Captain Pauldrons provide sovereign shoulder protection and are made from mild steel in Epic Dark and Epic Grey colours to emphasise honour and servitude. It is designed with a characteristic haute-piece that provides extra protection for the neck.

The word pauldron is derived from the Old French words espauleron, which means a shoulder-plate, and espaule, which means shoulder.

A padded collar provides comfort when worn underneath a gorget or spaulders.

The lined Nimue ("nmWAY") gorget  is ideal for the cold days of the year.
Made with a warm wool synthetic blend, it protects well from wind and weather and blends seamlessly with 2019 winter fashions. The edge of the gorget is fringed with fluffy faux fur. The Nimue is closed with a suede strap and a brass buckle.

The padded nature of this mantle also makes the wearing of pauldrons, gorgets, and bevors significantly more comfortable even without a gambeson.
