Epic Armoury’s Ratio Helmet is an asian-inspired piece of armour designed to protect the head during combat. Opponents and allies alike are sure to be struck with awe as you head into battle flaunting this stunning helmet. Incredible attention to detail and coloured brass and black, this helmet is spectacular as well as functional, since it offers maximum protection by covering the head, neck, and face. The visor is also reversible to allow for your desired comfort and vision while on the field.

The Ratio Helmet is fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s costume. Made of 1 mm thick galvanized mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Ratio Tunic is a padded long-sleeve coat covering the torso from neck to the hips. It can be worn on its own or serve as essential padding under mail or armour. The tunic is donned by sliding it down over the head and is tightened around the waist with a cotton belt. Specifically designed to serve as padding for Epic Armoury’s Ratio armour, this sturdy tunic is constructed with heavy layers of fluffed cotton canvas sandwiched between layers of heavy cotton canvas along the sides and over the neck and shoulders. The heavy cotton sleeves are fitted with brass eyelets on a leather plate to allow the Ratio Elbows and Spaulders to be attached to the fabric.

The Ratio Tunic is fully usable with other Epic Armoury products, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s costume.This tunic is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with the proper fabric care.

Built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment while keeping the user safe and comfortable, this armour will last a long time with regular leather and metal armour care.

STYLE AND FUNCTION COMBINED

Epic Armoury's Gambeson Dastan is a padded long-sleeve coat covering the torso from neck, down over the hips and upper thighs both on the front and back. It can be worn on its own or serve as essential padding under mail or armour. The gambeson is donned like a jacket and closed on the front with straps, allowing the wearer to customize the tightness of the fit. The shoulders are easily detachable by untying its cotton cords on the shoulders and sleeves, each cord secured through long-lasting brass eyelets. The gambeson design is created with a two-colour design in mind, giving a splash of colour to it.

Thick enough to serve as its own armour, this sturdy gambeson is constructed with heavy layers of fluffed cotton canvas sandwiched between dyed wool on the outside and softer cotton lining on the inside. All these layers are stitched together in vertical lines, keeping the padding in place.

The regular leather gauntlets we sell are already pretty boss for giving someone a backhand, but with a plate of brass over the knuckle you'll remain unsullied when laying in for a duel.

Epic Armoury’s Ratio Gauntlets are a set of steel gloves designed to provide maximal protection in combat without compromising manoeuvrability. From knuckles to the forearm, you can expect these gauntlets to keep you safe. Each gauntlet protects the knuckles with a rigid, sculpted knuckle plate. A short vambrace attaches to the hand plates with a thick piece of leather, protecting the wrist up the forearm. The back of the hand and the thumb are protected with overlapping steel plates fitted onto a leather foundation. Secure the gauntlet onto the hand by sliding the fingers through the leather loop around the hand, and tighten its heavy leather straps around the wrist and two around the forearm to keep the armour in place.

The Ratio Gauntlets are fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s costume. Epic Armoury’s Ratio Gorget and Shoulders are leather spaulders reinforced with brass coloured steel plates designed to provide protection for the throat, shoulders, and upper arms. This armour becomes one piece, with the shoulders and gorget attached together by leather cords. The top-grain leather gorget covers the thorax to the sternum and is designed to conform comfortably on the wearer. The shoulders are composed of spaulders covering the shoulder-joint and upper arms. The shoulder plates are strapped on at the gorget and around the upper arms.

Oh no, you think, as a sword and a helmet are thrust into your farm-calloused hands. You’ve never been trained as a soldier, let alone asked to fight on a dangerous battlefield!

But here you are, suddenly standing in a row of your neighbors with your helmet secured over a padded Undercap. You await the advancing orc raid headed for your farms and your town, and you just hope that somehow you’ll make it through. At least your helmet feels solid on your head. That’s something to be thankful for, at least...right?

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Undercap is a padded hood that fits over the head and ears comfortably. Made from quilted cotton canvas lined with a soft polyester interior and a medium cotton outer layer, this padding can be worn on its own or as padding beneath a heavy steel or leather helmet.

The Undercap is stitched to ensure the padding will remain evenly spaced. Secure it to your head by tying the cotton cords under the chin. With its neutral style, the Undercap will work on a wide variety of characters. Match it with other Epic Armoury armours and clothes to fit your unique style!

The best defence in life means nothing if it is eaten away by time and the elements, or even attacked from the inside.
And so it is with your own armour!
Humidity, expansion and contraction in the heat, UV radiation, rain, and the withering blows of your enemies all conspire to expose your armour to rust, but worse yet, your very own precious bodily fluids conspire to corrode it from the inside with their impurities and corruption! (which is why we only ever drink pure grain alcohol or rainwater)

You could coat your armour (and other metal objects) in a regular run of the mill lubricant, but many of them are actively hydrophobic. Great for metal but terrible for leather, cotton and other organic materials!

Lanox MX4 is a lanolin rich lubricant, and lanolin is the oil that is naturally produced by sheep to prevent them from shrinking in the rain and generally remain weather proof! It is superior to many artificial compounds and does not damage leathers or organic fibres.
