Epic Armoury's new Epic Black Ragnar Chainmail is a flexible mail armour shirt made from linked steel rings. The mail covers the body from the shoulder to the thighs, and has long sleeves protecting the arms to the wrists. Each butted ring interlocks with four other rings in a 4-in-1 design, while the armpits are reinforced with riveted rings designed to cope with additional stress. Treated with Epic Armoury’s Dark Metal coat to prevent rust, you can expect this armour to last a long time as reenactment gear with proper metal care.

This splendid 102 cm sword has a 67 cm fullered blade designed to be lightweight while maintaining its structural stability. Made from EVA foam surrounding a fibreglass core and finished with a strong and impressive paintwork, this sword is just as soft as any latex coated weapon but even more sturdy in battle, and another significant addition to the Stronghold line! 

The longer version exhibits a 20 cm long, highly detailed spacer made from polyurethane foam, that is sculpted and hand painted to resemble real leather with cross- stitching.The golden crossguard features an elaborate serpent-like embellishment, and the handle is cast and painted to look like realistic hardwood with a crescent gold-pommel at the bottom.

Due to the density of the blade, there is a chance of paint being rubbed off due to the friction caused when the blade and another dry surface makes contact. To mitigate this, we advise you to coat the blade with a thin layer of silicone, which will reduce the friction and in turn stress on the paint

Epic Armoury’s Dreki Pauldrons are a set of pauldrons with shoulder guards and spaulders, protecting the shoulders and upper armours. These robust steel plates efficiently protect the back of your shoulders and upper arm, while maintaining the same Nordic inspired, imposing, design that is common for the Dreki set. With overlapping plates and rivets and angular design gives these pauldrons an intimidating look, with plates in Epic Dark, that runs down the middle of the pauldron, to give symmetry to the pauldrons. The upper arm protection consists of three pieces of overlapping steel plates held together with two bands leather, which is spilt down the middle with an Epic Dark coated plate, designed to keep symmetry. The Dreki Pauldrons together by two tie strings that is attached to the Dreki cuirass or other compatible torso armours, along with a strap on the lower plate of the Dreki pauldron. Epic Armoury’s Epic Dark Rogue Torso is a cuirass made from leather and steel. This breastplate circles the neck in a narrow U-shape, with the steel chest protecting the thorax before sloping around the ribcage to protect under the arms. The steel plate is fitted on brown leather using heavy-duty rivets, and is secured using straps around the back and across the shoulderblades. The lower edge of the breast plate rounds to fit against the crest of the hips, dipping down into a point at the front. This design is mimicked by the overlapped leather plate, which also serves as an anchor for the Rogue Tassets.

Practical Protection for the Body

Epic Armoury’s Soldier Torso is a handmade cuirass and backplate, designed to protect the front and back of the torso and abdomen. This low-fantasy design is meant to fit an assortment of characters, and is inspired by historical medieval armour. It’s simple form comes in a range of sizes, and can easily be used by most people thanks to its curve and ability to overlap beneath the arms. The plate rests at the hips and has small rolled flanges around its edges.

Secure the Soldiers Torso by attaching the breastplate and backplate together over the chest. Six leather straps are riveted to the backplate, and are adjusted using the buckles attached to the breastplate. Tighten and adjust to your size, ideally over a padded gambeson for the most comfort. Made of polished 1 mm thick steel and chrome leather straps, this armour is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

Very few things offer greater protective qualities than steel, when it comes to historical armour. But with steel also comes disadvantages like weight, inflexibility and the need for constant maintenance to protect against rust. Nevertheless, in this day and age, unless you are on the re-enactment or SCA battlefield, you simply don’t need the level of protection that steel affords.

We here at Epic Armoury would like to present our Light Kit Edition Armours. Light Kit Armours are armours made out of Polyurethane, meant to resemble authentic metallic armours. Created with weight, comfort and utility in mind, Light Kit edition armours are for those people, who want to look like they are wearing authentic metallic armours while being comfortable.

To the untrained eye, these polyurethane armours are difficult to distinguish from their metallic counterparts.They are, however, more comfortable to wear and can be worn for long periods of time without discomfort. Indeed, the flexible nature of this armour means that it can bend to the contours of your body in a way that rigid steel will not. Each part is a quarter of the weight of their steel equivalent, allowing for faster movement with less fatigue. Each piece is hand painted with a durable acrylic finish and is detailed to look as realistic as possible. The maintenance free finish will not rust like steel, and can be worn in all kinds of weather. Adjustable leather straps and the flexible nature of the armour allows it to be comfortably worn. These Nordic Light Kit Greaves are inspired by Viking armour and features beautiful Celtic-inspired ornamenting.

This armour is perfect for a variety of uses such as LARP, Cosplay, Costume Parties or Theatre.

Polyurethane armour is a new project collaboration between Epic Armoury and The Knight Shop International designing under the brand names "Red Dragon Armoury" and "Light Kit".

The "Rikomer" plate armor is the brother of our "Dragomir" armor. Elaborately manufactured, it consists of a large number of lames and elements that, when combined, result in an extraordinary armor that can hardly be more agile. Every part from Rikomer is carefully flanged and coordinated with one another. Unlike "Dragomir", this armor is not decorated with beads and thus has an uncompromising, brutal look that contrasts with the finely shaped parts. Rikomer impresses with its design and the masterful execution that makes this armor so unique. It is also a more affordable than its brother "Dragomir".

Armor like this is usually only available as a custom-made product and we had to fiddle a long time before we could get it ready for serial production. Of course, the fit must and can be optimized here and there by careful bending, but we have designed the armor in such a way that it can be carried into the field with maximum comfort. The individual parts are burnished to protect them from rust, making the Rikomer burnished particularly suitable for dark knights and fighters of chaos.

We generally recommend wearing a gambeson and arm and leg paddings under plate armor. This significantly improves wearing comfort and protection.
