Gunnar Trousers - Canvas

The Gunnar trousers are a Rus or Viking pants and can be especially well-suited for Nordic costumes. We have focused on the usability in LARP with this trousers. It has some features that are not very historical but really practical. Belt loops, pockets, and a front button placket make it a pair of pants that can be comfortably worn in all situations at a LARP, a medieval market, or even in everyday life.

Friar Tuck is a particular monk. His motivation to embrace the cassock were, let’s say, unorthodox. He did not really care about prayer or religion. What he truly cared about was beer. Yes, Tuck has an indulgence for this beverage. It is well known, monasteries have been extraodinary brewers for decades. Thus Tuck became part of Fountains Abbey and learned to brew great beer. A few years later, he was kicked out of the abbey when they found out his real motivation. Friar Tuck wandered for a while and then encountered an outlaw band who made him famous!

Workshop

This is the first foam bottle made by Calimacil. It can’t be opened nor can its cork can be taken off. There is no core inside which means that it can be thrown safely. This brown bottle doesn’t have a label, it’s up to you to create what’s in it.

AVAST YE, SCALLYWAG!

Screeching gulls circled above our heads as we made our way to the coast. Our coats were no match for the relentless wind, but our attention was fixed on the flamboyant figures awaiting where waves meet the sand. Their curved cutlasses were drawn, and I understood this would be a standoff with skulls and crossbones, as promised. But my cutlass was sharper!

The Curved Cutlass is an iconic weapon for any naval character or urban character connected to shady establishments at the harbours. The weapon is inspired by designs used during the Age of Sail, which forms the setting in most maritime novels. While a cutlass may fit perfectly in the hands of a pirate, it is worth noting that the versatile design allows application with a wide range of characters, such as bold buccaneers, stout seafarers, decisive dock workers or bodacious bandits. Wealthier characters might instead wield a Curved Sabre. Despite status and station, any decent cutlass should have a story (or several) regarding the acquisition of the weapon. Epic Armoury’s “tricorne” Pirate Hat is handmade from natural full-grain quality leather and sturdy stitching, embellished with cotton canvas and laced leather around the brim. Inspired by popular 18th century hats of the time, its brim is turned up and pinned to form a triangle around the crown with leather lacing. With regular leather care, you can expect this hat to add a special touch to your kit for a long time!

HISTORY

• Referred to as a “tricorne” or “cocked hat”
• Popular by the end of the 17th century as both civilian fashion and military uniform
• Typically worn with the point facing forward, although soldiers would often wear it pointed above their left eyebrow to allow their rifle to be rested on their shoulder

The knee-length legs tie around the upper shin with a second set of drawstrings. Offering a surprising amount of support and coverage, these braies really demonstrate how awful crotch support used to be. Period-correct lice can be added for additional authenticity.

Braies have been worn by all strata of society and make a great basis for almost any character costume.

These pants are the perfect complement to our Gustav jacket. Both in combination are modeled on military dresses of the 15th and 16th centuries. The pants themselves are closed with a lashing strap at the hip, but can also accommodate a belt. For this we have attached belt loops. At the front of the crotch is an indicated shame capsule quilted in herringbone pattern. 

A beautiful detail to lean the pants even closer to models from the era.
