Fit, adjustment & care

• The strap system handles most sizing on its own, but for a closer fit, you can gently reshape the material itself using heat. Apply heat to the inside of the piece rather than the painted exterior, so the material becomes flexible without damaging the finish.
• Finish: The base material underneath the painted surface is black, so over time, scratches and general wear may reveal this black color underneath.
• Easy touch-ups: Minor cosmetic damage, such as scuffs or scratches can be simply repaired at home using a primer and acrylic hobby paints (such as Army Painter or Citadel).
• Leather care: The leather straps should be maintained like any other full-grain leather product, with occasional conditioning to keep them supple and long-lasting.

The Captain Pauldrons provide sovereign shoulder protection and are made from mild steel in Epic Dark and Epic Grey colours to emphasise honour and servitude. It is designed with a characteristic haute-piece that provides extra protection for the neck.

The Captain Pauldrons are part of the Captain Armour Complete Set and are intended to pair with the Captain Cuirass, Captain Gorget, Captain Arm Protection, Captain Leg Protection and Captain Belt Shields. The Captain Pauldrons are sold as a pair.

HISTORY

The word pauldron is derived from the Old French words espauleron, which means a shoulder-plate, and espaule, which means shoulder.

Designed to hang over the outer thigh and protect the upper leg without restricting movement, it slides onto your belt using the full grain leather loops and adjusts for a comfortable fit. This pair of leg plates follow the same logic as the forged version, with a knee that carries a ridged and riveted border and a pointed fan to turn blows away from the joint, all linked by riveted bands down the leg.

One quick flick of your wrist and the lord breathes his last, you knife hitting its mark...and you vanish, leaving their guards bewildered and afraid.

Epic Armoury’s Mempo is a leather half-mask inspired by early Asian soldiers. This mask protects the face from the bridge of the nose to the chin. Four ventilation slits allow proper airflow through the mask’s mouth, designed to be comfortably worn for long periods of time. Secure the mask to your face by tying two long cotton-weave cords around the head.

Made from 3mm thick vegetable-tanned full-grain leather, Epic Armoury’s Mempo is designed to add a great layer to your fantasy or historic costume. With the best quality materials, this mask is built to withstand extensive abuse with regular leather care.

Epic Armoury’s Shoulder Plate Giant Warrior are a set of two shoulder guards designed to protect the shoulder-joints and upper arm. This armour’s metal plates overlap one another to provide complete laminate protection. Overlaying the spaulders is a large pauldron, which provides additional protection to joints and armpits. Atop the pauldron a vertical plate sword breaker catches and deflects blows before they can impact the head. The sword breaker is slightly concave and somewhat higher at the back than the front, thus providing protection without impairing vision. Although the armour is designed to match Epic Armoury’s ‘Warrior’ set, it is fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury armours in order to fully customize your character’s look.

Secure the Shoulder Plate Giant Warrior by tightening the top leather strap onto a breast- or neck-plate, adjusting so that the armour sits comfortably over the shoulder. Keep the armour from further moving by securing an additional top leather strap around the upper arm.
