Athena Scabbard - Musketeer Dagger

Description

This velvet-lined leather scabbard was created for the Athena straight-bladed daggers produced by Nemesis Workshop. Specifically the Musketeer and the Noble daggers. It's soft lining hugs the blade tight so it doesn't slip out, and reduces friction to a minimum to protect against premature deterioration of the latex coating. It is also a very elegant LARP accessory, made of dyed and engraved genuine leather, presenting the best option at hand to carry a dagger into your next event.

Founded in 2004 in the cold windswept plains of the eastern Canada, Calimacil set out from its inception to become a world-class supplier of high-end LARP and historical re-enactment foam weapons. The assassin easily avoided the ducal guard as he slipped into the shadows. The tired men-at-arms were half asleep and, let's be honest, they were not very sharp even at their best. One last corner and he was inside the Duke's office, the middle-aged nobleman working on some legal papers even late in the evening, it was perfect. The Duke was alone with his books, focused on administrative duties, unaware he was about to lose his title and his whole legacy. As the assassin entered the room, he crouched low to avoid a wall chandelier to draw his shadow on the opposite wall, but by trying to avoid being seen, he made the leather of his boot creek lightly. There was no reaction from the seated noble. but while the assassin slowly closed in on the tip of his toes, the Duke gently put down his quiver, his hand reaching for the hot wax, apparently to seal the document he had been writing. It was only when the assassin pounced that the Duke grabbed the hot wax cup and, turning on himself with unexpected speed, threw the whole thing on the attacker's face, blinding him briefly in pain and causing him to miss his neck.

Jumping out of his chair, the nobleman reached to grab his sword, but found his grasp empty, the cumbersome weapon waiting by the side of his bed in the next room, where he dropped his scabbard. Luckily for him, he was never without his dagger and unsheathed the pointy blade just as the assassin wiped the wax from his face, burned and angered by pain. In reckless fury, the killer jumped toward the Duke, his curved knife shining in the candles' light, the older man raised an arm to protect himself, receiving a deep slash, but fighting through the pain to land a deadly riposte on the exposed assassin's flank, the blade sinking deep between ribs and bringing a swift death to the hired killer. Holding his injured arm, the noble smiled weakly as his guards finally stormed inside his office. A good dagger was apparently worth more than the salaries of these oafs.

This medieval latex dagger displays a simple yet elegant finish perfectly suited for a large array of characters in LARP. Inspired by the Late Middle Ages, this dagger is best used for knights, adventurous nobles, and high status warriors that can afford high quality gear, like veteran mercenaries or trusted bodyguards. It is the perfect main-gauche for a fencer, and an effective sidearm for a warrior wielding a larger weapon into battle.

A scarlet blur of swagger and panache, the dashing swashbuckler jumped from the balcony, landing on the shoulder of the statue of her Excellence the Empress herself, a good fifteen feet above the ground. Around the monument, palace courtiers and festive diplomats were laughing and clapping at the display of skill, convinced they just witnessed the surprise show of an impromptu acrobat. They quickly realized it wasn't exactly a planned event when a group of ironclad imperial guards reached the balcony, huffing and puffing under their plate armour. As they tried to strike the crimson outlaw with their halberds, it became clear this sword-bearing newcomer was some sort of intruder. Not losing a second, the nimble outlaw kissed goodbye to the armed guard before jumping from the statue's shoulder, using the stone Empress exaggerated dress rump as a ramp before landing with a pirouette in the middle of the assembly.

Up on the balcony, the guards were pushed aside by a red-faced and outraged Empress, dishevelled as she just got out of bed. She screamed in anger and injured ego: ''How dare you?! No one refuses the Empress! Arrest this ungrateful scoundrel!'' She ordered, spurring a few prideful nobles to draw their rapier and attempt to stop the nimble fleeing fencer. Apologizing in advance, the swashbuckler freed a long fencing dagger and a matching arming sword, before methodically destroying both the nobles' ego and their fancy clothes as they bit the dust, uninjured but out of commission. With a taunting reverence, the agile duellist turned toward the Empress and screamed, a giggle in the voice; ''I am quite sorry my dear, but I prefer to go with no strings attached. I am sure you will find another pretty face to join your so-called musketeers''. And with a stunning smile, the adventurous insolent escaped through the gardens, leaving the Empress dealing with a small court scandal on top of her bruised pride.

This fancy fantasy sword is inspired by Renaissance aesthetics and a perfect weapon for a duellist, fencer, battle bard, noble warrior, or swashbuckler in LARP. With a complex hilt that protects the fingers in combat, this foam weapon allows a more aggressive combat style for true musketeer prowess.

Epic Armoury’s Dagger Scabbard is a leather scabbard designed to protect your weapon from the elements, while keeping it conveniently close. This 46 cm scabbard will accommodate a 3.5 cm wide blade . Soft lining has been added to the inside to protect your weapon, while also making it easy to withdraw.

Wear this Dagger Scabbard with any character--especially a rogue or adventurer--by securing the holder to your belt through the belt loops. The scabbard hangs vertically off the belt, easily making it usable left- or right-handed. Made from full-grain leather and a hardened leather tip to prevent damage to your weapon, this weapon holder is built to keep its shape and withstand the abuse of a LARP with regular leather care.

Only the most proficient of Assassins were issued with a single knife holder for their belts. The display of only a single one meant they were truly to be feared because they only needed one.

Your throwing knife is held safely in the Throwing Knives Holder at your belt, keeping it handy while your hands are busy picking a noble’s unguarded luggage. Leaving anything valuable without a guard is like an invitation to steal it...at least that’s been your experience.

With a satisfying ‘click!’ the lock comes undone and you pry the chest open to reveal--oh, yes! That will do nicely. You pocket what looks to be a sizeable purse and a few interesting looking weapons, before carefully replacing the lock and sneaking out of the tent undetected.
