Musashi Katana Odachi

Hoshiro was a legendary blacksmith. Few had the great honour of using one of his creations, but the prestige it gave made even the noblest families jealous. Passed down from generation to generation, his mysterious technique produced a blade of perfect edge, and the handle was made specifically for the one it was destined to. Many wished to buy these sabers, but the smith had a golden rule: only the worthy would be allowed to use the swords. Thus, only the purest of souls could pretend to the title of first owners of these weapons, and all knew their names. This allowed the katanas, if stolen, to be found almost immediately.

Workshop

This new Calimacil odachi includes the most important elements of the old one: the Calimacil foam, both extremely durable and safe. However, the weapon now has a new, thinner blade, steel-coloured with silver accents. The handle is now white the wrappings are black for a contrasting look. Golden details such as the pommel have been added for a renewed realism.. This katana’s tsuba can be changed with any one of our other tsubas, so your weapon can be truly unique. Important : Don't forget to get a tsuba for your katana sword. These are sold separately.

The Tsuba is an interchangable guard for the katanas and Musashi Wakizashi. It will not fit on the Tanto or on the Ninja, which have integrated guard.

Can also replace some removable guards on many Calimacil weapons.

Legend

While katantas were known to be more efficient and deadly, some situations were unsuitable for these weapons. This is why swords such as the tanto and the wakizashi were created. More practical, they could be hidden and be used in tight spaces. They also didn’t restrict the movements of the one using it, which was perfect for a hasty retreat.

Seldom used as a main weapon, the tanto was often used as a secondary weapon in a two-weapon fighting style, or when a katana would be impractical.

Workshop

The Tanto II is the natural evolution of the first generation of this Squire sword. Always made of safe Calimacil foam, this weapon will give you years of good use thanks to its unrivalled durability. The guard of the sword is now steel-coloured and the handle is brown. The blade stays silver-coloured to make a unique and incredibly realistic weapon.

Characters

Tsuba not included

Like all the kids in his city, Sashi wanted to become a samurai. Before one of them, his eyes became full of stars and he thought of the encounter for days. Like any other kid, never he would have dared to take to one, so important next to his little person. Like everyone, he dreamt day and night about what he could accomplish later in life.

What took him appart from the other boys his age was his iron will. While they played, every moment he had was used for combat training, protocol lessons and martial arts practice. By 15, while they helped their parents in the fields, he was accepted as a pupil of a samurai. He would have the honour of learning from him the ancient arts. Before being a samurai himself, he could not wield the katana; his master’s wakizashi was all he needed.

The wakizashi II is the natural evolution of a historical weapon. Made from Calimacil foam, this weapon introduces a new, thinner blade, but safe and durable as always. This blade is steel-coloured ans has silver accents for a perfect illusion. The white handle is wrapped with black ribbon while the pommel and guard are golden, for a touch of nobility and details.

Historical weapon of the East, the wakizashi is a great addition to any noble warrior or pure follower of the emperor. Normally used as a secondary weapon in two-weapon fighting style, it can nontheless be used alone when needed, or as a primary weapon for smaller characters such as some mythical creatures of lore.

Epic Armoury’s Norman Sword is a latex longsword with a classic fantasy appearance. The 80 cm double-edged blade has a fuller and a plain, but practical crossguard. The 20 cm handle can be used one- or two-handed, and is wrapped in split-leather to assure a comfortable and secure grip. Epic Armoury’s Baal is a beautiful two-handed sword with variable grip and an extra long blade. From tip to pommel, the Baal spans a massive 140 cm, including a 100 cm long center ridged blade with a leather wrapped ricasso for half-swording techniques integral to longsword fighting in close quarters. The blade can be used with both hands on the handle, or with one hand shifted up onto the ricasso for improved control and greater maneuvering speed.

• Baal is also a term used for Lord, and is at times synonymous with God
• Two-handed swords were not common until after the 13th century, gaining popularity as an infantry weapon in the 15th and 16th centuries
• Also referred to as a Zweihänder (lit. Two-Hander)
• Soldiers who trained to use these swords were called Meister des langen Schwertes (lit. Master of the Long Sword)
• Required the use of two hands to wield, and was so long that it had to be carried without a sheath on the shoulder like a halberd

The 90 cm double-edged blade attaches to a large v-shaped crossguard, designed to lock an enemy’s blade and to protect your hands.
