Wulflund was founded in 2005 probably as the first Czech pagan and re-enactor's shop.  Since that time we have devoted most of our life to this passion.  We know that a connection to our history is an essential part of our future.

Together with skilled smiths, armourers, jewellers and leather workers we established our own product line - especially weapons, armour and jewellery.  Our products are continually in a developemental process and they reflect the specific requirements of re-enactors during combat.  We deliver worldwide, indeed our arms and armour are sent to many members of the prestigious Battle of the Nations, which is an international Historical Medieval Battles (HMB) world championship.

You admire the Viking Armour that belonged to your father. The great warrior sailed his last voyage, but your brethren still managed to bring back his armour specially for you. For that, at least, you are grateful.

Looking down upon the sturdy, freshly polished steel, you wonder what this armour has seen. Carried on countless travels, this armour may have been covered in blood raiding the English coast, tarnished under the sun of Spain, and used in defense of Miklagard.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Viking Armour is a breastplate and backplate inspired by lamellar worn by the Vikings, protecting the front and back of the torso. Made from layers of mild steel plates connected with durable leather cording, this armour is flexible and impressive in detail. Strong leather lines the armour around the edges to add comfort, while adjustable leather straps along the sides and on the shoulders attach the front to a solid leather backplate.

The Viking Armour is fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s costume. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

HISTORY

• Plate armour became more popular as firearm technology became more prevalent during the 13th century
• Inspired by lamellar armour worn by the Vikings, which would have included small iron plates
• Historically, most Vikings wore ordinary clothing and used a shield as protection

The best defence in life means nothing if it is eaten away by time and the elements, or even attacked from the inside.
And so it is with your own armour!
Humidity, expansion and contraction in the heat, UV radiation, rain, and the withering blows of your enemies all conspire to expose your armour to rust, but worse yet, your very own precious bodily fluids conspire to corrode it from the inside with their impurities and corruption! (which is why we only ever drink pure grain alcohol or rainwater)

You could coat your armour (and other metal objects) in a regular run of the mill lubricant, but many of them are actively hydrophobic. Great for metal but terrible for leather, cotton and other organic materials!

Lanox MX4 is a lanolin rich lubricant, and lanolin is the oil that is naturally produced by sheep to prevent them from shrinking in the rain and generally remain weather proof! It is superior to many artificial compounds and does not damage leathers or organic fibres.

Epic Armoury’s Viking Spangenhelm is a skull cap helmet inspired by by the Vikings of the early middle ages. Featuring a cotton inlay, reinforced cap, 10 cm nose plate and chainmail aventail, this helm offers significant protection while also remaining more comfortable and lightweight than a full helm. The chainmail aventail hanging from the back of the helmet protects the ears and neck while also allowing easy head movement from side to side.

Secure the Viking Spangenhelm by tightening the leather strap beneath the chin, keeping the helmet in place. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.
