Epic Armoury's Chainmail DIY Sheet is a sheet of chainmail, for those of you who would like to create your own mail-based gear. delivered in a square sheet, you can cut it, clip it, melt it, to your hearts content and create whatever you can imagine. You can rest assured that these chainmail sheets are of the same high quality as the ones used for our chainmails. Treated with a protective layer of oil, this should be removed before use.

FOR THE KING!

As a top-trained soldier in the King’s Guard you need the finest of armour in order to stand proud by His Majesty’s throne. Epic Armoury’s Royal Soldier Chainmail is a flexible mail armour shirt made from flat riveted linked steel rings. Each butted ring interlocks with four other rings in a 4-in-1 design, while the armpits are reinforced with riveted rings designed to cope with additional stress. The mail covers the body from the shoulder to the thighs, and has short sleeves protecting the upper arm. All edges are leather bound but the bottom one, and the shirt opens up in front with six brass-buckled leather straps allowing you to slip into your mail much easier, than if you had to slide it over your head. Expect this armour to last a long time as reenactment gear with proper leather and metal care.

This classic 4-in-1 pattern short-sleeved chain mail was built for average sized adults. It is wide enough to be worn on top of a padded gambeson.

The sleeves cover some 2/3 of the arms - still being considered a short sleeve chain mail - and reaches down to the middle of your thigh.

We suggest to wear this chain mail with an average chest circumference from 90cm to 120cm, once gambeson is factored in. This way it can be worn in combination with a padded gambeson and can extend itself to a maximum width of 140cm circumference. A belt can help to distribute the weight properly.

The shiny version is fully galvanized and does not rust. Oiled and browned chainmails are ungalvanized and are supplied with a high lubrication. Please remove the excess oil before first use.

Ungalvanized chain shirts should be treated regularly with oil like Lannox MX4.

The "Connor" chain bracers are inspired by historical finds and offer the protection of chain mail in combination with the comfortable wearing of leather bracers. They are closed at the back with 2 leather straps & buckles. The chain mesh is sewn all around with the bracers and edged with suede. We recommend combining them with padded bracers or arm wraps to protect against bruises and abrasions.
