The tunic was not only worn by romans in the ancient world, but was a favorited piece of clothing even in the high and late medieval period in Europe. It has been a basic piece of undergarment for men and women and constantly changed its appearance due to modern cuts and sewing techniques.

Mytholon's Gadaric tunic is used as a basis for most medieval costumes. The bottom widens slightly and has a central cut in the front and back to allow better movement of the legs. The wide cut sleeves will let you move your arms unhindered when dancing of fighting.

In the middle of the huge and festive camp, the cheers of the crowd grew deafening in the air as the bell rang on the fight’s winner. As the aspiring Guardian looked on, the stout one with boar tusks held out a hand and helped up the burly one with a large bearskin. Rivalry still shone in their eyes but she had a feeling these two would become friends over tonight’s feast as they exited the ring together.

The crowd’s attention shifted then, turning to her. Drawing a deep breath, the aspiring Guardian swept those thoughts aside and rose up to her full height, shaking her limbs to check for any piece of armor or regalia that may have loosened. As the cheers hushed into an expectant silence, she gripped her sword’s handle and made its amber eyes shine in the sunlight as she stepped forward. Across from her stood a larger opponent with an air of lupine strength but she was not intimidated; she believed in the mountain lion’s power that coursed through her body.

After a long moment staring into each other’s eyes, their bell rang and they leapt. Where the wolf swung high she hit low, and where they went low she sprung high with feline grace, her sword extending from her as a part of her body. Letting loose the instincts she had been gifted with, she yeowled wildly. Although talented, her opponent struggled to match her swift agility and when the bell sounded through the cheers, it was to her crouching astride the growling wolf’s back, gripping their throat with one hand closed like extended claws and the tip of her sword drawing a point of crimson blood. Slowly, she removed herself from her opponent and in the din of the impassioned crowd held down her hand.

Among the Druids, those chosen by the Owl and blessed by its wisdom are responsible to perform the great revival rituals. Guiding the Sentinels of Gaia by listening to the whispers of the forest, they reached the sacred grove, where earth and moss scented the air, and silence held reverence. Swiftly, the small community started installing the camp and cheers of anticipation of the coming ritual and festivities could be heard.

In the twilight hours the Druids gathered around a sacred stone. With a soft murmur of incantations, the Druids raised their staffs high. The owl-headed crown of the staff shimmering in the rising moonlight. Closing their eyes, they reached out with their senses, feeling the pulse of the earth beneath their feet and the heartbeat of the forest all around them. A dance of energy and resolve woven together with the threads of magic that permeated the grove. With each movement, the Druids called upon the spirits of the forest to lend their strength, their voices rising in harmony with the rustling leaves and the gentle sigh of the wind. As the ritual reached its crescendo, a sense of renewal washed over the grove, filling the air with a tangible sense of hope and vitality. The trees seemed to sway in time with the Druid's movements, their branches reaching towards the sky in silent celebration of the renewed magic that coursed through their veins. And so, beneath the watchful gaze of a perched great owl, the Druids completed their sacred task, their spirits lifted by the knowledge that they had played their part in the eternal dance of life and death that bound the forest together. With a final gesture of gratitude to the spirits of the land, they turned and signaled the start of the festivities, their hearts light with the knowledge that they had honored the ancient duty between nature and soul.

Epic Armoury’s Dane Axe is a deadly 150 cm two-handed axe fit for swift viking raids and ideal for breaking up shield-walls and battle formations. It has a 22 cm long axe-blade with a 20 cm edge. The head is made of soft foam, reinforced with a harder foam core. It attaches to the wood textured shaft which is handpainted to look like real wood grain.

In old-Norse, ‘Krieger‘ is the name given to fierce warriors that have seen and survived many battles. This Viking axe displays symbolism of the wolf, distinguishing itself by its unique style and for what it represents. This axe made its first appearance in the hands of a group of Viking veterans on a distant island called Arisan.

The rumours concerning theses axes were that they had been especially enchanted to be Wolfsegen, special talismans known to grant power over wolves and werewolves.

Wether or not these are just legends, when you do meet a group of guards of the great Jarl, a wandering skald or even just one Viking with a Krieger in his possession, I can only offer you one piece of advice: stay wary, as this may be your last battle! Such is the reputation of this fabulous weapon!

Workshop

The Krieger axe features a steel head with a celtic wolf engraved. The black handle imitates leather for a firm grip, while the pommel is shaped like the head of an incredibly detailed dire wolf. The whole axe is made of our unique Calimacil foam, so it will stay safe even after countless battles! 

Character

Celtic warriors will appreciate the design of this axe as well as its use as a tool. Many druids, shapeshifters and barbarians may use this weapon as it will bring them closer to their animal side. Finally, due to its intricate details and fine engravings, this axe can be used as a ceremonial piece, or as a gift to a foreign ruler as a sign of peace.

LEGEND

Everyone knows the story of the enchanted axe Ymir, the one that allowed Odin to defeat the ice giant of the same name. This ferocious weapon was later stolen by Loki. But few people know that the OdinAxe was created as a tribute to the god of gods to highlight this legendary fight against the giant.

This eponymously named Norse weapon embodies the pride and combat prowess of a fearsome warrior. In addition to the Celtic wolves on its blade, its handle features the symbols of Odin, namely his 2 crows Huginn and Muninn. On the pommel, we find a Valknut, the heart of Hrungnir, the knot of the dead and the knot of Odin. Linked to it, this symbol of three and nine evokes valor and death (in the sense of the liberation of the soul) and the roots of Yggdrasil (in the sense of the interconnection of the nine worlds of the Norse religion).

Thus, it is not surprising to find such a weapon among the arsenal of several factions of Scandinavian warriors. Its symbolism is energizing and even phenomenal, it is simply a fantastic creation.
