These greaves can be worn over leather or clothing, and the vertical steel strips offer excellent protection of your shins without encumbering you or hindering your mobility.

Historically speaking, it would seem, some Viking commanders received the title of Hersir. Proud warriors, their prowess were told by the skalds across the land. These leaders had the reputation of organizing, prepare and lead the best assaults on their enemies.

If at the start of the millenium, the title of Hersir included the role of a leader, or military commander, it was later recognized as being a representative of the royalty to the scandinavian communities. “So it the law! By my arm, so is the king’s will!”

The Hersir viking sword is inspired from the universe of Seyrawyn, a work by Martial Grisé and Maryse Pepin. On their lands where many cultures go alongside druids and dragons, only the accomplished viking warriors can carry the sword Hersir, the infamous weapon of the gods’ justice, and the will of the king.

IT ALWAYS PAYS TO HAVE A SPARE WEAPON

Epic Armoury’s Seax knife is a very utilitarian knife, with a flat single edged, 38 CM blade ending in a very sharp tip. It has no cross-guard, but does have a fine coreless pommel, that has a very form fitting hand grip that is very akin to modern kitchen knives. The, relatively, simple design of the Seax makes it a weapon that is perfect as secondary for any number of LARP characters, simple but effective without drawing much attention to itself. Incidentally, it also lets the Seax live up to its name, which is the old English word for knife. HISTORY

• Heavily Inspired by knife and weapon designs from old anglo-saxon ideas and archeological findings
• Seax was a blanket term to describe knives, both as tools and weapons, from the early middle ages
• Typically seaxs were double bladed, but single bladed designs did exist and it would be some of the most common designs that would carry the designation Seax.

Freydis was one of the leaders of a dangerous expedition to Vinland. Many perils awaited her and her group: hunger, disease and strange natives with unknown weapons and tactics. After her arrival, things were quick to become sour: relentless attacks made her allies weakened and fearful. During one of such raids, she saw her allies and warriors fleeing the battle. But she would not budge. Grabbing her sword, she proceeded to inflict herself a terrible wound to show her comrades she would not back down. With an inspiring battlecry, she charged head first into battle, which shook her allies, who came to her side. The sword she held this day became legend, and many believe they will never know fear while holding it.

The Viking II is the first weapon to feature our new handle. Steel-coloured, the guard and pommel surround a black leather-like handle, adorned with steel rings. Description

Created in collaboration with Le Duché de Bicolline, La Marquise represents the culmination of two universes linked by the same destiny. On the one hand, Bicolline, today the largest domain devoted to medieval fantasy role-playing games in North America, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. On the other hand, Calimacil, whose know-how for the creation of foam weapons for LARP continues to evolve, now relies on partnerships between the various LARP industry players.

La Marquise is the matching dagger to La Duchesse, Bicolline Battle’s 25th anniversary LARP sword. Their designs and color schemes intertwine in every possible way, and yet, the dagger feels very unique, far from just a side weapon when carrying both.

The handle of La Marquise displays small, but very noticeable golden seahorses, the emblem of Bicolline, on its pommel and on each side of its hilt. The rest of the handle, more sober, gives it a striking realism. The suptile variations between silver and steel hues allow the details of the guard to be raised. The blade has all the characteristics of the latest innovations from Calimacil. It strikes the perfect balance between safety and a realistic look. I buried my father with his sword, so he could bring it to Valhalla.
I kept his Seax.
I always loved the giant sea serpent Jormungand carved in the handle. When I was little, he used to lend it to me so I could pretend I was a valkyrie. It was the only thing I could lift up and it was still pretty heavy. One day while I was playing, I cut myself with it. I didn’t cry. I came back home with blood all over my left leg. He took me in his arms and told me: “Now I get to carry you everytime I go to battle. One day, it shall be yours.” I still feel the grip of this hand on the handle as if the wood carved itself to fit his grasp. My hand is much smaller, but just as strong and just as determined. Now that he’s gone, my brothers alongside him, it is up to me to uphold his memory. It is up to me to finish what he started and fight until Valhalla claims me. The sea shall bring me to my destiny. The wind shall swell the sails of my boat to this new land where my dreams have led me so many times in the past. When I think about who I was, I see the little girl  pretending to be a warrior.
