DETAILS

This Epic Armoury Imperial Gambeson is a padded long-sleeve coat covering the torso from neck, down over the hips on front and back. It can be worn on its own or serve as essential padding under mail or armour. The gambeson is donned like a jacket and closed on the front with a system of cotton cords, allowing the wearer to customize the tightness of the fit. The arms are easily detachable by untying its cotton cords on the shoulders and sleeves, each cord secured through long-lasting brass eyelets.

Thick enough to serve as its own armour, this sturdy gambeson is constructed with heavy layers of fluffed cotton canvas sandwiched between dyed wool on the outside and softer cotton lining on the inside. All these layers are stitched together in vertical lines, keeping the padding in place and mimicking a classic European high-medieval style.

Though of European cut, gambeson or quilted-style armours have seen world-wide use since antediluvian times, making the Imperial Gambeson a great basic armour with a range of possibilities regardless of time and place.

Epic Armoury’s Churburg Armour is a simple low-fantasy piece of armour protecting the front and back of the torso and abdomen. The plate rests at the waist and is sculpted to fit the body and add structural strength to the steel. This steel riveted piece has been treated with Epic Armoury's Epic Dark Metal coat to give the armour a rugged, antique finish.

The Churburg Armour is embellished with a wide ‘V’ on the front to deflect attacks away from the head. A Noble’s Knee Protection

Epic Armoury’s Green Noble Leather Poleyns are a pair of leather guards designed to protect the knees from pesky arrows. Molded and cut to provide the most protection to the entire knee--including the sides and the top of the shins--you can depend on this armour to keep you up on your feet. Overlapping plates provide comfort and flexibility, allowing great mobility on the battlefield. Practical Protection for the Arms

Epic Armoury’s Soldier Arm Protection is a complete set of vambraces, rerebraces, and elbow cups. Designed to protect the outside of the entire arm, this handmade armour is made from 1mm steel and connected by chrome leather straps and strong rivets. The elbow cups--also known as couters--protect the elbow joint thanks to its rounded shape and reinforced ridges. The inside of the elbow features a cupped flange to deflect blows. The upper arm is protected by the half-rerebrace, while the lower arm is protected by the vambrace.

The Soldier’s Arm Protection has rolled edges that form ridges around the rims. Three chrome leather straps are used to secure the armour to your arm, and the top of the rerebrace is attached to the gambeson using canvas ties through a leather plate. With regular leather and metal care you can expect this quality made armour to last for a long time!

The "Diana" gambeson is a specialty in our line of products due to its design. With 6 lacings in the front and its sidecuts, it can easily be adjusted to the wearer. The long sleeves are closed with an additional lacing. The different stitchings let you move freely while providing protection against rashes and bruises. The gambeson is lined with light cotton.

he Gambeson "Leopold" is classic cut and generously upholstered. This makes it excellent for the combination with a chain mail. It has short sleeves and is slotted on the back. Thus, it barely limits the mobility of its wearer and still effectively protects against abrasive armour and bruises in combat.
