Many years had passed, seeing old wars come to an end and new ones rise. The forest that belonged to Mael’s clan had shrunk, making way for the denser housing that had allowed its growing population to flourish. As his grandchild sat kneeling before him, he tried to remember why he had once thought the refugees would be such a threat but could only see his beloved wife’s eyes in the teen’s face.

“I do not know what the future holds for you but you have grown up strong and capable. You have learned our traditions well, both of our clan and of your grandmother’s ancestors. Your turn has come to walk in your parents’ footsteps and aid in guarding our peace.”

One at a time, Mael opened the folds of fabric and slowly unveiled a dagger. It bore a striking resemblance to his own but had been refashioned to represent the cultures that had come together as one within his lifetime. As he handed the weapon over, the youth’s eyes were bright; Mael prayed that these eyes would not be lost to this new war that drew near.

Workshop

This dagger is refashioned from one of the last products made using our old production methods. Updated with a new steel-coloured blade bearing stunning golden details along its center. As always, this weapon is made of our unique foam formula which gives it incredible realism and durability without compromising its safety. The handle is painted steel and golden and the grip has a rope-like texture to ensure great handling.

Character

Perfect as a side-arm for knights and holy warriors, this dagger can also be used by merchants, lone travelers and priestly characters thanks to its less cumbersome size. With its intricate details and golden accents, it could also be used as a symbol of social status for nobles.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Raven Helmet is a skull cap helmet inspired by the spangenhelm of the early medieval period. The beak shaped face guard and metal cheek flaps provide great protection and visibility to the face, while the chainmail aventail provides protection to the neck. Reinforced with rivets, a combed apex, and a steel band around the rim, you can expect this helmet to stand up against any who should stand against you.

Secure the Raven Helmet by tightening the leather strap beneath the chin, keeping the helmet in place. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

Epic Armoury’s Celtic Leaf Sword is a latex-hybrid long sword inspired by the Celtic tribes of early history. The sword is 100 cm long from tip to pommel, with a double-edged blade designed for chopping thanks to its leaf-like shape. The detailed crossguard and crescent pommel features gold accents and protects a sculpted grip. DETAILS

This bestselling Ready-for-Battle Viking Leather Armour is an adorned leather cuirass that protects the torso on all sides. Made from chrome-tanned, plated leather bands set in a diagonal weave on the front, this armor is both a distinct and practical addition to your kit.

Attach the front to the separate back plate with split-leather straps fitted at the top and sides and secured with iron buckles on the back. The thick blanket of white snow that was covering the battlefield this very morning has turned a mucky red. All around you wounded and dead men are piling up. Epic Armoury’s Celtic Dagger is a 46 cm weapon that has a narrow, 29 cm two-edged blade with a central ridge. The brass coloured 15 cm handle features a u-shaped cross-guard and a form fitting hand grip. MASTERS OF SKULDUGGERY

Epic Armoury’s Landsknecht Rondel is a solid 46 cm. dagger inspired by the mercenary Landsknechts of the Hansa State era. Whether your LARP-character is a conniving scoundrel who's trade is skulduggery & espionage or simply just a rogue on the run, this dagger is for you. It features a 28 cm. blade with a central ridge and a fine wood-like handle protected by a cross guard in the shape of a twisted bronze ring. The bronze coloured pommel is rounded, designed as a basic interpretation of a knight’s “rondel dagger”. When fighting enemies close-quarter in heavy plate armour, daggers like this would have been used to force between the joints.

Special care has been taken to ensure that our LARP weapons are safe. This dagger was constructed around a solid fibreglass rod core and a flexible kevlar tip to prevent punctures. Its latex finish requires some maintenance to maximize its use and your wellbeing.

Epic Armoury’s Seax knife is a very utilitarian knife, with a flat single edged, 38 CM blade ending in a very sharp tip. It has no cross-guard, but does have a fine coreless pommel, that has a very form fitting hand grip that is very akin to modern kitchen knives. The, relatively, simple design of the Seax makes it a weapon that is perfect as secondary for any number of LARP characters, simple but effective without drawing much attention to itself. Incidentally, it also lets the Seax live up to its name, which is the old English word for knife. HISTORY

• Heavily Inspired by knife and weapon designs from old anglo-saxon ideas and archeological findings
• Seax was a blanket term to describe knives, both as tools and weapons, from the early middle ages
• Typically seaxs were double bladed, but single bladed designs did exist and it would be some of the most common designs that would carry the designation Seax.

In the universe of The Witcher, daggers are used to harvest trophies from downed opponents. Freydis was one of the leaders of a dangerous expedition to Vinland. Many perils awaited her and her group: hunger, disease and strange natives with unknown weapons and tactics. After her arrival, things were quick to become sour: relentless attacks made her allies weakened and fearful. During one of such raids, she saw her allies and warriors fleeing the battle. But she would not budge. Grabbing her sword, she proceeded to inflict herself a terrible wound to show her comrades she would not back down. With an inspiring battlecry, she charged head first into battle, which shook her allies, who came to her side. The sword she held this day became legend, and many believe they will never know fear while holding it.

Workshop

The Viking II is the first weapon to feature our new handle. Steel-coloured, the guard and pommel surround a black leather-like handle, adorned with steel rings. Its blade is silver for an added realism. The whole weapon is made of the safest foam there is: the Calimacil foam. With its increased durability and safety, the sword will remain to your side for years.

Characters

This weapon was made with Vikings in mind. However, many other germanic characters can use it to its fullest, such as barbarians, noblemen and shieldmaidens. However, it’s not because this weapon is prestigious that Orcs and dark liches can’t profit from its sharp blade, so stay alert!

I buried my father with his sword, so he could bring it to Valhalla.
I kept his Seax.
I always loved the giant sea serpent Jormungand carved in the handle. When I was little, he used to lend it to me so I could pretend I was a valkyrie. It was the only thing I could lift up and it was still pretty heavy. One day while I was playing, I cut myself with it. I didn’t cry. I came back home with blood all over my left leg. He took me in his arms and told me: “Now I get to carry you everytime I go to battle. One day, it shall be yours.” I still feel the grip of this hand on the handle as if the wood carved itself to fit his grasp. My hand is much smaller, but just as strong and just as determined. Now that he’s gone, my brothers alongside him, it is up to me to uphold his memory. It is up to me to finish what he started and fight until Valhalla claims me. The sea shall bring me to my destiny. The wind shall swell the sails of my boat to this new land where my dreams have led me so many times in the past. When I think about who I was, I see the little girl  pretending to be a warrior.
But these times are long gone and time for pretend is over.
