I always loved the giant sea serpent Jormungand carved in the handle. When I was little, he used to lend it to me so I could pretend I was a valkyrie. It was the only thing I could lift up and it was still pretty heavy. One day while I was playing, I cut myself with it. I didn’t cry. I came back home with blood all over my left leg. He took me in his arms and told me: “Now I get to carry you everytime I go to battle. One day, it shall be yours.” I still feel the grip of this hand on the handle as if the wood carved itself to fit his grasp. My hand is much smaller, but just as strong and just as determined. Now that he’s gone, my brothers alongside him, it is up to me to uphold his memory. It is up to me to finish what he started and fight until Valhalla claims me. The sea shall bring me to my destiny. The wind shall swell the sails of my boat to this new land where my dreams have led me so many times in the past. When I think about who I was, I see the little girl  pretending to be a warrior.

Weapon, utility knife and multi-purpose tool, the seax or scramasaxe was widely used by the Germanic peoples and more particularly the Scandinavians of the Viking era. Athena is a new thermoforming manufacturing process that we have developed in order to offer high quality products at the cutting edge of technology. 

Thanks to this new process, Nemesis has taken the quality of their products to a higher level. Safer due to reinforced tips, durable due to quality materials and foam fusion during thermoforming, incredible balance due to the weighting system in the handles, flawless blades due to high precision molds, and daggers ready to parry due to a more robust fiberglass rod.

Legend

Many years had passed, seeing old wars come to an end and new ones rise. The forest that belonged to Mael’s clan had shrunk, making way for the denser housing that had allowed its growing population to flourish. One at a time, Mael opened the folds of fabric and slowly unveiled a dagger. It bore a striking resemblance to his own but had been refashioned to represent the cultures that had come together as one within his lifetime. Workshop

This dagger is refashioned from one of the last products made using our old production methods. Updated with a new steel-coloured blade bearing stunning golden details along its center. As always, this weapon is made of our unique foam formula which gives it incredible realism and durability without compromising its safety. The handle is painted steel and golden and the grip has a rope-like texture to ensure great handling.

HISTORY

• Round wooden style was predominantly used in the early European Middle Ages using light, non-splintering wood such as linden, fir, alder or poplar

Legend

Historically speaking, it would seem, some Viking commanders received the title of Hersir. Proud warriors, their prowess were told by the skalds across the land. These leaders had the reputation of organizing, prepare and lead the best assaults on their enemies.

If at the start of the millenium, the title of Hersir included the role of a leader, or military commander, it was later recognized as being a representative of the royalty to the scandinavian communities. “So it the law! By my arm, so is the king’s will!”

The Hersir viking sword is inspired from the universe of Seyrawyn, a work by Martial Grisé and Maryse Pepin. On their lands where many cultures go alongside druids and dragons, only the accomplished viking warriors can carry the sword Hersir, the infamous weapon of the gods’ justice, and the will of the king.

This bestselling Ready-for-Battle Viking Leather Armour is an adorned leather cuirass that protects the torso on all sides. Made from chrome-tanned, plated leather bands set in a diagonal weave on the front, this armor is both a distinct and practical addition to your kit.

The EirikR Sword is made as a collaboration between artisans of Epic Armoury and archaeologists from Lejre Land of Legends. It is designed to match the Osted Sword found in 1887 near the town of Osted in Lejre, Denmark. Due to its pattern-welded blade and the herringbone ornamentation with silver and copper on the crossguard and pommel, archaeologists assess that the sword most likely belonged to a king or a highly esteemed housecarl. The Warlord Sword from Epic Armoury is part of our hybrid range. The blade is designed with a double fuller and comprises a fibreglass core embedded in closed-cell ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam coated with pigmented latex. The handle is made of polyurethane (PU) foam and features imitated gold and silver ornamentations loosely inspired by Nordic art from the Scandinavian Viking Age. Thus the sword fits exceedingly well in settings inspired by this historical period. Designwise, the Viking Sword is a fine alternative, also available in a battle-worn version, but if you seek an authentic design based on a real find, we recommend the EirikR Sword instead.
