Epic Armoury’s Splint Shoulders are a set of two simple spaulders. The spaulders feature one solid metal plate with a contoured shape to turn and absorb strikes to the arm. The spaulders are fastened with leather straps around the biceps, as well as a cord at the shoulder which attaches to a breastplate or gambeson. Along the top of the shoulder they are embellished with a scalloped metal and black leather breaker.

The Splint Shoulders are striking in style and match exceptionally well with Epic Armoury’s Splint Bracers and Poleyns. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

Epic Armoury's new Hourglass Gauntlets are a set of mild steel gloves designed to protect the wrist, back of the hand and knuckles in combat without compromising manoeuvrability. From fingers to the wrist, you can expect these gauntlets to keep you safe. Each gauntlet protects the fingers, covering them with thick leather, knuckle plates and shiny brass rivets. The back of the hand is protected by a rigid, sculpted plate. A short vambrace protects the wrist.

The steel is decorated with coloured split-leather and the gauntlet is worn via a leather glove underneath. The finger protection of the glove is sewn onto the leather glove, with a leather strap around the palm to secure the gauntlet onto the hand. Made from polished mild steel with rolled edges, these gauntlets are impressive in appearance and easily paired with other Epic Armoury armours.

DETAILS

This Epic Armoury Imperial Gambeson is a padded long-sleeve coat covering the torso from neck, down over the hips on front and back. It can be worn on its own or serve as essential padding under mail or armour. The gambeson is donned like a jacket and closed on the front with a system of cotton cords, allowing the wearer to customize the tightness of the fit. The arms are easily detachable by untying its cotton cords on the shoulders and sleeves, each cord secured through long-lasting brass eyelets.

Thick enough to serve as its own armour, this sturdy gambeson is constructed with heavy layers of fluffed cotton canvas sandwiched between dyed wool on the outside and softer cotton lining on the inside. All these layers are stitched together in vertical lines, keeping the padding in place and mimicking a classic European high-medieval style.

Though of European cut, gambeson or quilted-style armours have seen world-wide use since antediluvian times, making the Imperial Gambeson a great basic armour with a range of possibilities regardless of time and place.

Epic Armoury’s Polished Steel Persian Greaves is a set of steel leg protection designed to protect the shins and calves. Formed to the shin and connected by chainmail, these greaves are designed to sit comfortably over the shins while leaving room for poleyns to cover the kneecaps. Epic Armoury’s Splint Bracers are a pair of leather and metal arm and elbow guards. The 1mm thick steel couter is forged and shaped to provide the most protection to the entire elbow--including the sides thanks to an attached fan plate. The arm guards, or vambrace and rerebrace, are made from thick top-grain leather and a row of metal strips attached to the inside. With these three overlapping parts providing comfort and flexibility, they have great mobility on the battlefield.

These Splint Bracers feature incredible details like scalloped leather edging, and is covered with a studded and lined suede. Four leather straps are used to keep each of the Splint Bracers in place. Brass eyelets and canvas cords are used to attach to the forearm guard and upper arm guard. Worn on their own or with our matching Splint Shoulders and Poleyns, these Splint Bracers are sure to add some class to your costume.

Epic Armoury’s Green Corrazina is a beautiful low-fantasy piece of armour protecting the front and back of the torso and abdomen. The plate rests at the waist and is sculpted to fit the body and add structural strength to the steel. The best defence in life means nothing if it is eaten away by time and the elements, or even attacked from the inside.
And so it is with your own armour!
Humidity, expansion and contraction in the heat, UV radiation, rain, and the withering blows of your enemies all conspire to expose your armour to rust, but worse yet, your very own precious bodily fluids conspire to corrode it from the inside with their impurities and corruption! (which is why we only ever drink pure grain alcohol or rainwater)

You could coat your armour (and other metal objects) in a regular run of the mill lubricant, but many of them are actively hydrophobic. Great for metal but terrible for leather, cotton and other organic materials!

Lanox MX4 is a lanolin rich lubricant, and lanolin is the oil that is naturally produced by sheep to prevent them from shrinking in the rain and generally remain weather proof! It is superior to many artificial compounds and does not damage leathers or organic fibres.

The "Mina" line was made as an armour for women, drawing from historical and fantasy sources for inspiration.

The spaulders are, just like the entire "Mina" series, built similary to the "Balthasar" series: decorations with rivets along the edge beading are a returning design element in both armours. Both armour series can easily be combined with each other. A slim built and swung lines provide a delicate shape to these spaulders. Two moving pieces are flexibly attached by a leather strap to the top plate. The spaulders do not overlap the chest plate and are fastened to the gorget on the top and the upper arm with the bottom strap. Naturally the spaulders can be combined with any other gorget from Mytholon.

The spaulders have five ridged metal plates--or lames--overlaying one another to provide laminate protection of the upper arms.
