Markward gauntlet short - Silver

The short gauntlet "Markward " is very agile. It is fingerless, consists of 6 flexibly connected segments and barely limits the movement of the hand in combat. The glove is closed with three buckles and can also be worn over chainmail gloves.

The leather glove shown is not included in the scope of delivery.

1mm steel with over 30 points of articulation for ease of grip.

Your squire buckles the straps of your custom-fit Gauntlet, adjusting it to be comfortable and snug over your hand. You paid top coin for this armour, and you expect people will be impressed when they see how it shines on the battlefield.

Your blacksmith assured you that the Gauntlets’ design was the latest in technology, able to withstand and deflect attacks--even the worst of slashes to make it beyond your sword’s crossguard. You are a mighty warrior, indeed, to be the owner of such fine craftsmanship. A fitting symbol of your godly-given status.

DETAILS

These bestselling Epic Armoury Gauntlets are a set of early renaissance articulated steel gloves designed to provide maximal protection in combat without compromising manoeuvrability. From fingers to the forearm, you can expect these gauntlets to keep you safe. Each gauntlet protects the fingers, covering them to the tips with overlapping metal plates. The knuckles are protected by a rigid, sculpted knuckle plate. A short vambrace protects the wrist halfway up the forearm. The back of the hand and the thumb are protected with finely fitted overlapping steel plates decorated with shiny metal rivets.

The steel is fitted onto a flexible leather foundation and the gauntlet is worn via a leather glove underneath. The fingers of the glove are sewn onto the steel protection, with adjustable leather straps under the knuckles and at the wrist to secure the gauntlet onto the hand.

Made from polished mild steel with rolled edges, these gauntlets are impressive but neutral in appearance and fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury armours.

Intimidation. It’s your main form of weaponry while facing the heroes, because it gives you full control. When your enemies fear you, they are more likely to make fatal mistakes.

Your Dark Drake Armour is as dark as your intentions, hardened by the evil magic your subjects provide. As you withdraw your sword, sizing up the quivering soldier who feels brave enough to stand against you, you begin to laugh. This will be a very brief fight--if you can even call it that. The little man looks barely strong enough to hold up his hammer.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Dark Drake Arm Protection is a set of steel vambraces designed to protect the forearms in combat. Rounded at the edges and decorated with scale-like ridges, these vambraces are designed to sit comfortably over the forearm, reaching from the elbow and narrowing at the wrists. Secure this armour with a top-grain leather strap below the elbow and another above the wrist.

The Dark Drake Arm Protection is designed to match Epic Armoury’s Dark Drake Armour, but is fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products, giving you the freedom to customize your character’s costume. Made of 1 mm thick galvanized mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

HISTORY

• Unlike popular belief, arm protection was only called a “bracer” if it was meant to protect the forearm of an archer. Actual forearm protection like this would have been called a “vambrace” or “forearm guard”
• Plate armour became more popular as firearm technology became more prevalent during the 13th century
• Historically designed with sculpted ridges to provide reinforced protection and to deflect attacks on a chaotic battlefield
