Epic Armoury’s Ready-for-Battle Fighter Greaves are fancy leather greaves designed to protect the calves. The armour is constructed from leather oblongs cut from chrome-tanned, plated leather, riveted with brass studs onto soft split-leather. The armour is secured to the calves by sturdy leather straps and iron buckles.

This armour is hemmed with additional soft split leather to keep the armour from deforming with excessive wear. The armour is fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury products, and is light with a distinct, neutral style that will fit with almost any world or character you wish to take on your first adventure.

HISTORY

• Inspired by “brigandine” armour from the Middle Ages, but lighter without the usual metal plates riveted into the armour
• Inspired style came into wide use during the 15th century

Maintenance:
Hand wash warm (30°C). Wash newly purchased items separately the first time, hereafter with similar colors. Expect shrinkage of ca. 3% on nature fiber when washed.

Epic Armoury’s Gambeson Legs are a set of quilted cotton greaves designed to add comfort and protection beneath your leg armour. Made from quilted cotton canvas lined with a soft polyester interior and a medium cotton outer layer, they can be worn on their own or as padding beneath heavy steel or leather armour.

The Gambeson Legs are stitched to ensure the padding will remain evenly spaced. Secure them to your legs by tightening the cotton string lacing through brass eyelets up the calf. Quilted armours were common through many cultures and used across a broad expanse of time. With their neutral style, the Gambeson Legs will work on a wide variety of characters.

HISTORY

• Used as padding under chainmail or plate armour
• Historically, a high-medieval European gambeson was recorded as being capable of stopping sword blows from penetrating the skin
• Could stop heavy arrows and mace and axe impacts with the addition of overlaying chainmail

Our "Robert" greaves are composed from plaited leather straps, which are riveted together. They comfort your legs and adjust very well. You can close them with three buckles.

The armour is constructed from chrome-tanned split leather and carefully stitched around the edges to create a simple yet aesthetic design. The armour is secured to the leg by sturdy leather straps and brass buckles.

Hemmed with additional soft split leather to keep the armour from deforming with excessive wear, this leg-guard will withstand any LARP abuse, you might force on it. The greaves match our Veteran Armour and Bracers, but have a distinct, neutral style that will fit with almost any combination of costuming, when you craft your LARP kit for your next adventure.

HISTORY

• May also be referred to as a schynbald, only protecting the front of the lower leg
• The word greave comes from the Old French greve, which means “shin,” or “shin armour”

The Italian company Fucina del Drago is famous for its beautiful leather products. They only use high quality leather and materials. 

A travelled adventurer shows class by wearing these greaves - just as a noble lady would.  

The elegant greaves from the Lancelot set made from two leather pieces riveted onto each other. The elaborate embossing show the Fleur de Lys and wave-like patterns - almost maritime ornaments in wide banded straps. The greaves are closed with two buckle-straps in the back. Perfectly suitable for knights, wealthy nobles, or even mariners.

Black Dragon is our brand for the design and construction of weapons, armor and props oriented to LARP, Cosplay and film productions.

These are articles made of materials such as plastazote, evazote, resins and the like, used to give shape and substance to the wildest dreams of every designer or to reproduce objects not otherwise available because of fantasy.

It was born from the meeting between the Fucina del Drago and Black Forge, an artisan workshop that has been active for years in the LARP and Cosplay sector at national and international level which, in February 2020, joined forces in the common goal of expanding their work and their skills to offer them on a wider market also linked to film productions.

From this collaboration, projects related to TV series have been born that have benefited from years of experience and tests on materials, at the same time highlighting on the one hand the absolute reachable realism and on the other the possibility of truly shaping the imagination to give shape to things otherwise unattainable.

From the feedback obtained, the push that led us to strongly believe in this new project was born to the point of creating a brand dedicated only to this type of product.

The Epic Armoury Ranger Greaves are beautiful leather greaves designed to protect the calves. The armour is constructed from full-grain leather straps and weaved together to create a beautiful design beneath a full-grain leather frame. Sturdy full-grain leather straps and brass buckles secure the armor to the leg.

The sturdy stitching keeps the armour from deforming with excessive wear. This armour was made for our Ranger Armour Set but has a style that will fit with other Epic Armoury armour sets and almost any costuming combination.
