All you have is your scythe, and it is this that you clench in your calloused and worn hands as they descend.
Along with your fellow workers, you fight bravely. They aren’t expecting peasants such as you to fight so hard! You don’t want to die, and so you also find yourself thankful that the raiders seem as untrained as you, the combat continuing.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s War Scythe is a 60 cm latex short axe with a 20 cm blade. The weapon is entirely handpainted with wood-grain and metal finishes. The blade is angled and designed to match the realism of the traditionally shaped handle, with a deadly hook at the end inspired by the weapons that could rip through armour...as well as more obvious farmer’s tool!
Made from durable closed cell foam around a fibreglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can feel confident that your LARP weapon will provide the safety and appeal you want when crafting your kit.
HISTORY
- Designed as a weapon against armoured opponents at close range
- Considered an improvised weapon used by peasants in uprisings, whereas the blade would have been rotated to appear more spear-like
- Typically attached to a pole and used as a farming tool
The Khopesh (also vocalized khepesh) is an Egyptian sickle-sword that evolved from battle axes.
A typical khopesh is 50–60 cm in length, though smaller examples do also exist. The blunted edge of the weapon's tip also served as an effective bludgeon, as well as a hook. These weapons changed from bronze to iron in the New Kingdom period. The earliest known depiction of a khopesh is from the Stele of Vultures, depicting King Eannatum of Lagash wielding the weapon; this would date the khopesh to at least 2500 BC.
DO NOT DISAPPOINT THE PHARAOH
Epic Armoury’s Khopesh is a ancient egyptian inspired, 37 cm curved blade. It has no cross-guard, but does have a fine coreless pommel. The sharp organic features takes heavy inspiration from the Khopesh of Ancient Egypt. Made from durable closed cell foam around a fibreglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can feel confident that your LARP weapon will provide the safety and appeal you want when crafting your LARP kit.
HISTORY
- Originally the khopesh were made of bronze but were later found in iron
- A khopesh were made to be a slashing and blunt weapon and due to it’s heavy nature it could be used for both.
- Curved is especially effective for slashing (instead of stabbing) in combat
The druid looked at Eric. A vault? Here in the Rambling Forests? The Crusader must have been mad! What kind of idiot, noble or lowborne, would expect a Druid who is minding his own business calmly collecting elder berries to juice for various rites which only a complete moron would interrupt as this was meant to be a Druid's private time to collect himself with his own thoughts.
"Uhh, excuse me?" Eric interjected "Are you aware that you said that all aloud?"
Please Note: This is technically a coreless weapon. The foam is incredibly dense along the back however, and we do not recommend using it as a throwing weapon.
It is suitable for close in, RP fights only.
War is all that you know. For your clan, war is a permanent state of being. Just as you need meat to sustain you and leather armour to protect your leathery green skin, war keeps your thirst for chaos and violence sated.
Your clan now gathers to prepare for the war against the goblins. The creatures used to be your allies, but in the last battle they became cowardly and ran. Now there is nothing more to be done than to hunt down every one of them and serve them over your fire.
You begin by picking up your Ork Waanaz Shield.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Ork Waanaz Shield is a rustic latex shield designed to be a part of the Orc collection. This shield is hand painted and modeled to look like planks of wood that have been fit together using rope and heavy bolts, giving it a rough look you expect from orc goods. Square shaped, it is 80 cm wide and tall.
Wear this Ork Waanaz Shield left-handed with the use of two leather arm straps on the back, secured through hard EVA foam for a reliable and solid grip made to last. Feel confident that this latex shield will withstand the continued abuse of a LARP with regular latex maintenance.
INSPIRATION
- Earliest references to orcs are found in Old English and Anglo-Saxon sources, such as in Beowulf and in 16th century Italian folktales
- The word itself stems from the Latin word Orcus, which was the name given to the Roman deity of the dead
- J.R.R. Tolkien’s 20th century The Lord of the Rings series describes orcs as brutish, aggressive beings with a taste for human flesh
- Tolkien’s writings influenced many role-playing games, and are now seen in such games as Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer and Warcraft
Dig UP, stupid!
It’s About Survival
Epic Armoury’s Folding Shovel is a 60 cm spade made from foam, handcrafted to imitate an entrenching tool used by the military and survivalists alike. Entrenching shovels like this particular model have been used since WWII, and were considered a necessary part of a soldier’s equipment. They were even considered ancillary weapons, sharpened and used in close quarters at the Battle of Stalingrad.
Constructed from EVA foam around an 8 mm solid fibreglass rod, this Folding Shovel is finished with a durable layer of latex to prevent shredding and to give it a realistic, smooth surface. The 39 cm handle is carved and hand painted to look like real wood grain, while the 31 cm long head has a nice army-green metal finish with worn edges.
The shovel’s head is not actually foldable, but it includes fine details to give the impression that it can be! It is also reinforced to keep the head of the shovel from breaking, despite heavy use. Use this improvised axe against raiders, zombies, and radioactive rodents--while maintaining an air of ‘practicalism’ thanks to its multifunctional nature.
A Tool for Military Strategy
- Entrenching tools were used in ancient times by Roman legionnaires to dig ditches around their camps
- The entrenching tool was designed to fold easily for transport, and serve as both a shovel and a pick
- Entrenching tools were also considered a weapon and were often sharpened by soldiers in WWI and WWII
