I am a poet at heart, but the heavens have another plan for me. Bearing arms in the name of our beloved queen and country against the warriors that came across the northern sea, I will stand firm to protect my home and kin. As we hold the line, watching them beat spears against shields across the sandy field, I think of the rumors from the west of these invaders said to be ruthless. Despite the fear of death that lays like lead in the pit of my stomach, I know that my duty has been divinely ordained. With a glance to either side of me, I remind myself that like many before them, this enemy will falter before our iron will and under the weight of the morning stars we raise to crush wood and bone alike.

Workshop

Long-awaited, our morning star strives to imitate the appearance of its historical counterparts. Painted with the same high degree of realism that we have become known for, the handle of wooden appearance ends in a grip with a leather texture and steel pommel. The head is hollow to ensure safe LARP combat and the Calimacil foam this weapon is made of ensures that it will last for years of adventures.

You look upon your leading officer as he makes his way down the line of your fellow soldiers. Your fate and the fate of your entire unit is dependent on this veteran’s word, and you find yourself relieved not to shoulder such a heavy burden.

“We must fight!” your officer shouts for all to hear. You adjust your Shoulder Plate Giant Warrior armour, double checking the buckles as you listen to him continue. “For our homes and for our families, we will fight until we can fight no more!” With a resounding cheer, your fellow soldiers ready themselves for the charge. You withdraw your weapon, eager and afraid all at once.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Shoulder Plate Giant Warrior are a set of two shoulder guards designed to protect the shoulder-joints and upper arm. This armour’s metal plates overlap one another to provide complete laminate protection. Overlaying the spaulders is a large pauldron, which provides additional protection to joints and armpits. Atop the pauldron a vertical plate sword breaker catches and deflects blows before they can impact the head. The sword breaker is slightly concave and somewhat higher at the back than the front, thus providing protection without impairing vision. Although the armour is designed to match Epic Armoury’s ‘Warrior’ set, it is fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury armours in order to fully customize your character’s look.

Secure the Shoulder Plate Giant Warrior by tightening the top leather strap onto a breast- or neck-plate, adjusting so that the armour sits comfortably over the shoulder. Keep the armour from further moving by securing an additional top leather strap around the upper arm. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

An Ancient Warrior

Epic Armoury’s Black Auxiliary Shield is a semi-curved shield taken from the ancient world of Roman legionnaires. Take up your oval shield and prepare to fight beside your fellow soldiers, relying on its 90 cm length to protect against wayward spears and arrows. Convince your friends to get their own and form a devastating shield wall!

The Black Auxiliary Shield is made of EVA foam and is handpainted with a glossy black finish and a metallic rim. The rim is sculpted to look like real iron, complete with small nail heads. The details continues on the backside, with a faux-metal rim around the reinforced punch grip. This grip is 14 cm long and wrapped in suede leather for a comfortable feel that can be used left- or right-handed! Keep your shield in great condition with regular latex maintenance.

The Black Auxilliary Shield  is Epic Armoury's offering for those that need a large shield, but also want to have a surface to customise to their team's or character's exacting requirements.

Fight in Formation

• Similar to an early Roman scuta, which was later developed into a rectangular shape
• The typical oval or rectangular scuta were dramatically concave, which offered a lot of protection while making the use of weapons somewhat difficult due to restricted arm movement
• The Shield Boss--the round, convex piece of material at the centre of the shield--was used to deflect blows

Your aura of darkness freezes the hearts of anyone who looks you in the eye. And your favorite? Someone is saying you made a deal with a devil so that you may never die.

You will never tell them which might be true. Instead, as you sit just beyond the campfire and clean the blood from your Visored Barbuta, you simply listen...and smirk.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Visored Barbuta is a gracefully curved full-helmet with a distinctive visor. The visor is movable and can be flipped up over the helmet. Whether up or down, the visor can be locked in place with a pin-and-chain. The visor has two rectangular eye-slits, flat nose and a large Maltese-Cross breathing-hole. Wrought to follow the shape of the head and reinforced with a low crest from forehead to neck, the helmet is elegant while still being comfortable to wear.

The helmet gives full protection to head except at the throat. The Barbuta was used mainly by the flamboyant Italian mercenaries of the renaissance and was favoured with light troops for the mix of protection and excellent visibility. Made to wear with renaissance style clothes, it has a high-fantasy feel that will fit with a lot of characters.

Chainmail has become popular on the battlefield, protecting soldiers from sharp blades and arrows. But you are clever. A soldier in chainmail has every reason to fear you, because metal ring armour will do nothing against the blunt force of your Demon Slayer mace.

Your fellow soldiers gave your mace its name after your first battle--a battle which sent the enemy running in terror like demons faced with the wrath of a god. You feel rather god-like wielding it, come to think of it.

Handpainted detailing gives the mace-head and haft a realistic matte steel finish. The 16 cm handle is wrapped in split-leather for a solid grip, connected to a sculpted pummel to match the head.

The mace has six detailed and reinforced flanges, each featuring a three leaf clover. The clover or club motif continues down the 50 cm staff, carved into the handpainted wood grain. Epic Armoury’s Short Mace is a 70cm one-handed mace with a utilitarian design. It features a small head with pointed flanges, sculpted and hand painted to look like real metal. The head is actually made of soft foam, reinforced with a harder foam core. It attaches to the realistic wood grain shaft, hand painted and sculpted to look like dark wood reinforced by riveted metal. The grip has been wrapped in suede leather for the greatest comfort.

Epic Armoury’s Footman’s Mace is a low-fantasy latex weapon designed to intimidate armoured knights on the battlefield. The mace is 80 cm with a small 11 cm long flanged head designed to penetrate chainmail and plate alike. Each of the six flanges is 8 cm long and V-shaped, realistically sculpted to appear riveted. The haft is hexagonal with sculpted and handpainted iron bands to serve as optional grips and structural support. Top-grain leather wraps around the 18 cm handle, giving this mace an exceptionally durable grip.
