There are stories being told about you amongst the soldiers. You are the mercenary who has slain over a thousand men. You put fear in your enemies with one sweep of your weapon. Your aura of darkness freezes the hearts of anyone who looks you in the eye. And your favorite? Someone is saying you made a deal with a devil so that you may never die.
You strap your armour over your Imperial Gambeson, preparing for battle. You will never tell them which stories might be true, but they can see for themselves your battle prowess once you step onto the field and dominate once more.
This Epic Armoury Imperial Gambeson is a padded long-sleeve coat covering the torso from neck, down over the hips on front and back. It can be worn on its own or serve as essential padding under mail or armour. The gambeson is donned like a jacket and closed on the front with a system of cotton cords, allowing the wearer to customize the tightness of the fit. The arms are easily detachable by untying its cotton cords on the shoulders and sleeves, each cord secured through long-lasting brass eyelets.
Thick enough to serve as its own armour, this sturdy gambeson is constructed with heavy layers of fluffed cotton canvas sandwiched between dyed wool on the outside and softer cotton lining on the inside. All these layers are stitched together in vertical lines, keeping the padding in place and mimicking a classic European high-medieval style.
Though of European cut, gambeson or quilted-style armours have seen world-wide use since antediluvian times, making the Imperial Gambeson a great basic armour with a range of possibilities regardless of time and place.
Quilted armours have been around since at least 400 BCE
Used as padding under chainmail or plate armour
Historically, a high-medieval European gambeson was recorded as being capable of stopping sword blows from penetrating the skin
Could stop heavy arrows and mace and axe impacts with the addition of overlaying chainmail
Specific style often worn by freemen, mercenaries, and other independent warriors
You tighten your Ring Belt another notch, frowning at the watered-down soup over the fire. It’s been a long winter, and you and your family aren’t sure you’re going to have enough food. As you consider ways you might be able to afford some meat--maybe you can do some work for a merchant in town?--there’s an anxious knock on the door.
“Raiders!” shouts the messenger on your doorstep. “Raiders are coming! Every able person is being called to fight!”
Suddenly an empty belly is the least of your worries.

Your squire buckles the straps of your custom-fit armour, adjusting it to be comfortable and snug over your gambeson. Then you are handed your piece-de-resistance: the Norman Sword. You paid top coin for this sword, and you expect people will be impressed when they see how it shines on the battlefield.
Your blacksmith assured you that the sword’s design was both effective and awe-inspiring, and you’re one to agree. You are a mighty warrior, indeed, to be the owner of such fine craftsmanship. A fitting symbol of your godly-given status.
Epic Armoury’s Norman Sword is a latex longsword with a classic fantasy appearance. The 80 cm double-edged blade has a fuller and a plain, but practical crossguard. The 20 cm handle can be used one- or two-handed, and is wrapped in split-leather to assure a comfortable and secure grip. A round pommel, handpainted like the rest of the sword, is detailed to match the crossguard.
Made from durable closed cell foam around a fibreglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can feel confident that your LARP weapon will provide the safety and appeal you want when crafting your kit.
Commonly referred to as a “broadsword,” which is actually a historically incorrect term
Inspired by the two-handed longsword of the late medieval and Renaissance era, but with a slightly shorter blade
Your Knight’s Code is one of valor, truth, and courage. You are tasked with defending the innocent and the weak, and today your oath is being tested. Outside of town there has been a bandit attack on a merchant and his family, and it’s up to you to rescue them.
Your squire secures your Knight Sword to your belt, and with a prayer to your God you and your small unit strike out onto the road. The sword is a reminder that you are a weapon of justice.
Criminals be warned.

Epic Armoury Traveller's Boots are tall, soft leather boots with lacing and curved caps. The boots are made from thin, black chrome-tanned leather and lined with a soft, black split-leather on the inside. The boots are reinforced with additional stitching around the edges and reinforced at the heels to make them extra durable and prevent deformation with extensive use. The boots are knee-high and can be flipped at the top, giving them the classic pirate-boots look. They are adjustable through a long, stitched leather brace, set with rounded leather cords through brass eyelets, stretching the full length of the calves. The outsoles are made from 7 mm thick natural rubber, while the insoles are made from thin, flexible top-grain. The soles come to a sharp point, pointing up at a jaunty 45° angle. With their easy and moderate style the Traveller's Boots are easy to adapt to different characters and are sure to fit into any setting.
Epic Armoury’s boots are measured in European sizes using the continental system with mondpoints measuring the foot heel to big toe and diagonally at the broadest point in mm given in the parentheses – note that as the items are hand-made sizes vary by as much as half a size. Please refer to ISO 9407-1991 for a precise conversion guide.

Please note: due to the narrow and pointed toe, most people opt for a larger size than they usually wear.
