These are sold in lots of 6 tie strings.
It’s been a tiresome day of training, and you’ve been trapped inside your completely sweat soaked gambeson for the better part of eight hours. The last thing you need as you finally settle onto your cot is to mess with stubborn ties!
Thankfully your Dark Blue Tie Strings with Points make the lacing process simple, and you untie each individual tie with a quick pull. Within a minute your cloth armour hits the floor, and you can properly collapse onto your pillow. Phew!
Epic Armoury’s Dark Blue Tie Strings with Points is a set of six cloth aiguillette cords designed to easily thread through eyelets on your cloth costume. Each end is securely fastened to a brass tip that makes lacing a breeze, keeps the cloth from unraveling, prolongs the string’s lifetime use, and gives your costume a polished look. There are five available tie string colours, so feel free to match or contrast your strings with your costume! For example, use this Dark Blue version to replace the strings on your Tristan Vest, or change up the look on your Imperial Gambeson by adding a different colour to the seams. It’s a great way to make your costume a little more unique.
Available in colours Off-White, Epic Black, Dark Red, Dryad Green, and Dark Blue.
HISTORY
- This type of tie is considered an aiguillette, aiglet, or point due to its metal tip
- Points were used for practical and decorative reasons since the 16th century
- These ties would have been used to hold up armour and close seams along sleeves and jackets
There are stories being told about you amongst the soldiers. You are the mercenary who has slain over a thousand men. You put fear in your enemies with one sweep of your weapon. Your aura of darkness freezes the hearts of anyone who looks you in the eye. And your favorite? Someone is saying you made a deal with a devil so that you may never die.
You strap your armour over your Imperial Gambeson, preparing for battle. You will never tell them which stories might be true, but they can see for themselves your battle prowess once you step onto the field and dominate once more.
DETAILS
This bestselling Epic Armoury Imperial Gambeson is a padded long-sleeve coat covering the torso from neck, down over the hips on front and back. It can be worn on its own or serve as essential padding under mail or armour. The gambeson is donned like a jacket and closed on the front with a system of cotton cords, allowing the wearer to customize the tightness of the fit. The arms are easily detachable by untying its cotton cords on the shoulders and sleeves, each cord secured through long-lasting brass eyelets.
Thick enough to serve as its own armour, this sturdy gambeson is constructed with heavy layers of fluffed cotton canvas sandwiched between dyed wool on the outside and softer cotton lining on the inside. All these layers are stitched together in vertical lines, keeping the padding in place and mimicking a classic European high-medieval style.
Though of European cut, gambeson or quilted-style armours have seen world-wide use since antediluvian times, making the Imperial Gambeson a great basic armour with a range of possibilities regardless of time and place.
HISTORY
- Quilted armours have been around since at least 400 BCE
- Used as padding under chainmail or plate armour
- Historically, a high-medieval European gambeson was recorded as being capable of stopping sword blows from penetrating the skin
- Could stop heavy arrows and mace and axe impacts with the addition of overlaying chainmail
- Specific style often worn by freemen, mercenaries, and other independent warriors
You watch the caravan coming up the road from far off, counting at least two guards and a handful of merchants. Only one of them is on horseback, with the cart pulled by a sad pair of mules.
You feel confident in your new Rogue Neck and Shoulders, smirking as you signal to your fellows who lie in the shadows. There may not be much to steal, but you and your mates will take it all.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Rogue Neck and Shoulders is an articulated set of armour designed to provide protection for the neck, shoulders, upper arms and chest. The armour is a six-piece set: a two piece gorget, two shoulders, and two upper arm guards. The gorget covers the thorax to the sternum and is furnished with both metal and leather. The gorget and shoulders are attached with top-grain leather straps and a strong cord. In addition, a strong leather strap is adjusted around the chest.
The shoulders are composed of pauldrons and arm guards covering the shoulder-joint and upper arms. The top of the pauldron scoops upward, creating a ridge meant to deflect blows. The shoulder plates are strapped on at the gorget and connect to the upper arm plate, which is secured around the biceps with an adjustable leather strap.
The Rogue Neck and Shoulders is made from top-grain leather and galvanized mild steel with rolled edges that form ridges around the rims. The design is inspired by assassins and rogues, but the style and functionality is fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury armours, allowing freedom to combine armours and customize a character’s looks to fit your needs.
HISTORY
- Also referred to as a gorget, which means throat
- Historically designed with sculpted ridges and overlapping plates to provide reinforced protection and to deflect attacks on a chaotic battlefield
- Plate armour became more popular as firearm technology became more prevalent during the 13th century
Sometimes the end will come off one of your tie strings. Sometimes you just want to turn cheap shoe laces into something that looks suitable to go with your LARP gear. But you need the little metal dealy thing that goes on there. Like the plastic shoelacey endy tube.
The word for that is "aglet".
Here is a bag of 10 of them.

The moment of truth is upon you as you feed the pungent potion to your rat. It seems to like the taste, eager for another sample. That is a good sign! To your relief you see the potion’s desired effects. The rat begins to shrink.
A job well done, you fill three small vials and place them into your Potion Holder. These might very well come in handy.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Potion Holder 2 Piece is a small unnoticeable bag for keeping potions safe while adventuring. The bag is made from tough plated split-leather folded around two small glass bottles with rubber stoppers, each capable of holding approximately 5 ml of fluid.
The bottles are held securely by leather pockets preventing them from making contact and breaking during combat or other rough play. Lock the pouch closed with a horn bar through a looped leather cord. The pouch can be attached to a belt via two belt straps fitted with brass studs, and will fit most Epic Armoury belts. For the adventurer who likes his or her healing potions intact, this Potion Holder is an essential part of any kit.

DETAILS
Epic Armoury’s Roman Belt is a belt inspired by the military belt worn by ranking Roman soldiers. The Roman Belt’s five hanging leather plates and metal fittings protect the groin, but ultimately this is more for a show of rank than for armour.
Made from heavy canvas and rimmed with soft leather, this belt is constructed to prevent tearing or deforming in order to provide a durable solution to your Roman-inspired costume. With a sturdy cotton cord tied at the back, adjust this belt to a large range of sizes to fit your unique body.
HISTORY

- More commonly a male fashion item, with the exception of the Middle Ages

Just some very useful string to replace the bits that may come off of your gambeson or armour during battle.
