You strap your armour over your Imperial Gambeson, preparing for battle. You will never tell them which stories might be true, but they can see for themselves your battle prowess once you step onto the field and dominate once more.

DETAILS

This Epic Armoury Imperial Gambeson is a padded long-sleeve coat covering the torso from neck, down over the hips on front and back. It can be worn on its own or serve as essential padding under mail or armour. The gambeson is donned like a jacket and closed on the front with a system of cotton cords, allowing the wearer to customize the tightness of the fit. The arms are easily detachable by untying its cotton cords on the shoulders and sleeves, each cord secured through long-lasting brass eyelets.

Thick enough to serve as its own armour, this sturdy gambeson is constructed with heavy layers of fluffed cotton canvas sandwiched between dyed wool on the outside and softer cotton lining on the inside. All these layers are stitched together in vertical lines, keeping the padding in place and mimicking a classic European high-medieval style.

Though of European cut, gambeson or quilted-style armours have seen world-wide use since antediluvian times, making the Imperial Gambeson a great basic armour with a range of possibilities regardless of time and place.

Epic Armoury’s Soldier Shoulder is a set of two shoulder guards with spaulders and pauldrons. The spaulder is made from a single plate, shaped to provide protection to the upper arm. Epic Armoury’s Soldier Gorget is designed to sit around the neck, providing protection to the thorax and shoulders. Handmade and molded to sit comfortably on the shoulders, this gorget offers some of the best protection for the battlefield without being overly ornate. The Soldier’s Gorget is made from two pieces, one side secured with a bolt and the other closed with an adjustable leather strap. The bestselling Epic Armoury Soldier Armour is a handsome leather cuirass designed to protect the whole torso. Secure this armour tight over the chest and abdomen using four sturdy leather straps and brass buckles, with further adjustments available along the flanks by tightening strong leather cords for a perfect fit.

This cuirass is crafted to be especially hardy by stitching overlapping full-grain leather secured with shiny brass studs. At the neck, an additional leather plate serves as a gorget. On the tenth night of the siege, the attackers revealed their true colours. Until now, they had attacked only in small skirmishes, climbing walls at various points to test the defenders' numbers and to spot any weakness. But on that fateful night, they unleashed a full-scale assault, showing to the castle inhabitants that they had colluded with a goblin horde to flesh out their army before the attack. Using goblin mercenaries was a clear sign of infamy, for the nasty little creatures were known cannibals, and thus would often deny an honourable surrender to the defenders. By hiring them, the attackers were aiming for a quick victory, the monster providing a clear numerical advantage, and the useful capacity to climb stone walls without any siege equipment. However, their plan backfired horribly.

At the first sight of the goblins, panic quickly spread among the denizens of Castle Valdemar. Everyone knew such a horde meant assured death for them all... if they managed to take the castle. As the walls were getting overwhelmed and breached at many points by the green tide, a mismatched troop of stalwart defenders emerged from the lord's armoury, clad in ill-sized armors and wielding mass-produced swords meant for levied troops. They were blacksmiths, stonemasons, apprentices, stable boys, maids, even scribes. Many had seen too many seasons, or too few, but spurred on by desperation, the brave mob swarmed across the wavering defences, helping the struggling guards and knights fend off the attack. By the next morning, the humiliated goblin horde, untrustworthy at their best, had abandoned the enemy camp, leaving with all their employer's supplies in the process. The siege was over. won by the valiant effort of those who picked up a sword and fought for survival.

The soldier sword is a versatile weapon that can suit a large array of fantasy characters in LARP. Its classic medieval design makes it a great choice for a first purchase, as it can be used for many themes, but its dark color can also make it a good pick for more sinister concepts. This longsword will be best used for more humble characters in low fantasy LARP settings, such as guards, men-at-arms, mercenaries, or simple infantrymen. Its dark color can also make it a suitable weapon for dark elves, demons, and undead characters.

Humidity, expansion and contraction in the heat, UV radiation, rain, and the withering blows of your enemies all conspire to expose your armour to rust, but worse yet, your very own precious bodily fluids conspire to corrode it from the inside with their impurities and corruption! (which is why we only ever drink pure grain alcohol or rainwater)

You could coat your armour (and other metal objects) in a regular run of the mill lubricant, but many of them are actively hydrophobic. Great for metal but terrible for leather, cotton and other organic materials!

Lanox MX4 is a lanolin rich lubricant, and lanolin is the oil that is naturally produced by sheep to prevent them from shrinking in the rain and generally remain weather proof! It is superior to many artificial compounds and does not damage leathers or organic fibres.

Mytholon enters the market for more premium armour designs with the neautifully hand crafted Dragomir armour.

None shall accuse you of giving them the cold shoulder because you'll have torn out their tongues.

The "Dragomir" plate armor is incredibly elaborate. It consists of a multitude of lames and finely shaped elements which, when combined, result in extraordinary armor that can hardly be more agile. Every part by "Dragomir" is carefully flanged, decorated with beads and coordinated with one another. They impress with their shape and the masterful execution that makes this armor so unique.

If you like it a little less decorated and want to save some money, you should check out "Dragomir's" brother "Rikomer". Technically identical, "Rikomer" dispenses the decorative beads in favor of a more brutal look and a lower price.

Armor like this is usually only available as a custom-made product and Mytholon had to fiddle a long time before they could get it ready for series production. Of course, the fit must and can be optimized here and there by careful bending, but Mytholon have designed the armor in such a way that it can be carried into the field with maximum comfort.

The individual parts of the Dark varient are burnished to protect against rust and are particularly suitable for dark knights or fighters of chaos.

Steel varient "Dragomir" is particularly suitable for dragon knights or fighters of light.

We generally recommend wearing a gambeson and arm & leg paddings under plate armor. This significantly improves wearing comfort and protection.

The "Edward" series full leg guards was built large enough even for bigger heroes. This way it can be worn even on top of padded thigh guards and completes many full plate armours.

It is being tied to the wearer by using a belt for the two laces and attached to the leg and knee with buckle-straps.

The knees outer side is closed by a shell (knee-plate), so that blows and strikes can not cut the important parts.

The leg guards ends just below the knee and can therefore be worn with greaves or seperatly: both ways are possible and depend on the wearers' decision.

Epic Armoury’s Gothic Arm Protection is a set of steel elbow cups--or couters--designed to protect the elbow joints. The elbow cups are rounded with reinforcing ridges and decorative steel rivets. Around the rim of each cup, a large V-shaped flange deflects blows away from the elbows. A half-rerebrace protects the upper arm while a vambrace protects the forearm below the couters. Top grain leather straps are used to close the braces and a third leather strap around the elbow keeps the piece in place.
